Site selector and attorney George Pretty complimented the city, saying: “Although I have visited Birmingham several times on business, before taking part in the tour last week, I was surprised to see the scale and pace of change playing out across the city. “These are exciting times for Birmingham, driven by the passion, commitment and determination of its civic and business leadership. I have no doubt that Birmingham will continue to thrive as a world-class investment destination, affording expanded economic growth for its people.”

As seen in Birmingham – ASOS e-commerce pioneer and leading online retailer, ASOS seized the opportunity to invest into Birmingham, one of the UK’s largest digital sector talent pools. The company recognised that the city’s growing specialism in e-commerce presented an excellent opportunity to open an office focusing on creating new company websites in growth markets. Pete Marsden, Chief Information Officer for ASOS, said of the expansion in Birmingham: “We are an ambitious company, and are looking forward to settling into what we know is a very ambitious and talented city. Since we started our search for a new office location, our sense has been that Birmingham is a city with the talent, cost effectiveness, physical infrastructure, plans and will to help our business succeed. We’ve been welcomed with open arms and supported through every step by the Business Birmingham team, who we will continue to work with.”
