It all began, when a businessman from Nepal conceived this estate as a holistic retreat befitting royalty. Eventually, in 2007, the estate witnessed a revolutionary transformation. By 2009, it went on to occupy a proud place on the world map as a 100% organic tea garden. Situated on a sprawling 137 hectares of area, Sourenee is situated between elevations ranging from 700-1300 Meters. Currently, it has 95.5 hectares under plantation and provides an honest livelihood to more than 5000 knowledge-workers alike. The last 16 months have seen Sourenee tirelessly dedicated to developing an exclusive & luxurious boutique resort; aimed at tea tourism!

So, what does this journey entail?

Through the estate’s section No. 1; a walk lasting but fifteen minutes, you shall arrive at the gazebo; overlooking the Southern side. The kaleidoscopic 360 degree view is that of Kurseong (E), Siliguri (S) with the Balasun & Mecchi rivers’ stately entrance into the plains, Nepal (W) & the Sourenee Bungalow against the Himalayan ranges (N).
The trail that beckons! If paranormal is what interests you, walk down thirty minutes towards the South-East of the Bungalow. Rumors suggest an eerie experience, those had by the local people. Opt for a short trek afterwards, lasting an hour and a half, through the tea bushes, to soak in the view of the southern valley! A walk to remember!
A challenging trail indeed; it descends from a height of 4500 ft to 2500 ft, through tea bushes and steep inclines. After a journey which lasts a little over two hours, you arrive at a small stream. As you rejuvenate your senses, witness the grandeur of the surrounding ridges while picnicking! Yes, we have in store one such ‘reward’ spot for you!
