Cagliari is a city on the move.

In fact it is a city suitable for sport and relaxation.

At Poetto beach it is possible to do

surfing, swimming and

sailing; there is also a

nice road for bikers.

Among the sand dunes, you’ll find various sports pitches where the

most popular sand-based activities are played: tennis, volleyball and

soccer.

Cagliari is also a vibrant and lively city, and the night-time is

no exception.

The streets of the old town come to life with young people weaving from

restaurants to bars.

You can sip an aperitif on the terrace overlooking the Bastione…

…or sit back and enjoy a relaxing cocktail under the shade of the Elephant Tower.

In summer you will find all sorts of entertainment on offer in the

typical beach bars.

When night falls, there is no shortage of places where you can kick back and enjoy a chat in a relaxed atmosphere or dance the night away in the city’s

most fashionable nightclubs.

Cagliari has endless delights, certainly not to be missed.

In addition Cagliari offers many international opportunities to

enjoy your free time, and this is due to the presence of multi-

ethnic population.

In recent years there’s been an increase of the migration in

Sardinia, particularly from Asia and Africa but from Ucraina and

Romania too.

In Cagliari the migrants are not

consider a problem

but they are an important part

of the community.

In fact the city is one of the first

in Italy for the racial

integration.

Migrants are integrated into our city: they are mostly assistant for old people, baby-sitter, but also

business men, salesmen and restaurant owners.

Not long ago in Cagliari the Caritas association has organized an

important party with many colours and lots of exotic music called “Hello

Brother” dedicated to the migrants.

Another important happening regarding the Senegalese community in Cagliari is the celebration for the anniversary of Independence of the

Republic of Senegal. Cagliari has organized a meeting in Monserrato on

Saturday April 17.

Other initiatives finalized to increase racial integration were the

meeting held by the San Pietro parish and by the SVE, a voluntary

service established by the EU dealing with integration problems.
