Introduction

In this assignment, we were given a task on to find a size of land with 30mX30m in

order to develop a small construction project and produce a report proposal. In this

report, we are required to propose one project to be construct on the land such as

recreation area, commercial area, industrial area, agriculture area, tourism area and

residential area.

This is the land chosen by my team from Penang

We can see this

30mX30m land is full

of bushes and also

rubbish been thrown

everywhere.

This land is just

right beside

residential area and

it’s never being

appreciate by the

residents around.

Advantages

Empty space has a strong wind comes towards to the houses around and makes the

houses more exposure to air. When houses are good ventilated, people doesn’t use air-

conditioning to cool their house. Hence, environment are protected.

An existing flat land makes construction much easier as geographical terrain allows

the buildings to be built on same level.

This land is just

right beside

residential area and

it’s never being

appreciate by the

residents around.

There are a road to the 30mX30m site, it just never been well-maintained and doesn’t attract residents around to been the site.

Disadvantages

There are also a terrible view over to the rubbish and bushes around. There is like

never being maintained by authorities and also never being appreciate by residents

around.

It is also never have a good condition of road. Under my prediction, the condition of

road makes the residents around doesn’t not has sense of staying on that land.

Proposal Concept

After investigating the 30mX30m empty land, I had decided to propose a concept of

developing the land into a commercial area by constructing a clubhouse. This

clubhouse is emphasized on planting trees, shrubs and lamps to make the surrounding

looks closer to nature.

Rationale

Why I propose to build as a commercial area?

According to surveillance, majority of the

residents hardly come out for exercise or

bonding between neighbourhoods. Besides,

there are no green space for residents to have

outdoor activities.

Besides, if this land never been well-maintained, mosquitoes are easily breed on and

disease will spread to the residents around. With health considerations, cleaning up

bushes and trapped water able to avoid breeding of the pests. Moreover, the rate of

health of residents obviously increase.

Key initiative of clubhouse

The clubhouse of the future should be developed on the basis of four key initiatives:

Capacity to cater for the needs of a growing volunteer lifesaving membership.

Have a sense of an open welcoming the greenery environment.

Aesthetically the clubhouse design will assimilate with the mother of nature.

Reduction in environmental impacts is a priority.

Advantages of my concept

Residents able to have a public space for exercising and provide a chance for

residents to communicate with each other.

Grassy field is to integrate human lifestyle and nature environment.

Trees provided is for a shady place to let every family has outdoor activities.

After the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages, as the air comes towards able

to ventilate the houses nearby. Building a clubhouse with 1 floor will not block the

wind come through. Besides, there are no spaces for residents to exercise and also

places for people to communicate with each other

Where is the clubhouse located at?

This clubhouse is proposed to build on a strategic location which surrounded by the

residential area. Residents can reach the destination by cycling, walking. Thus, to

reach the clubhouse, car is not necessary for the residents around.

Who are the targeted visitors?

This clubhouse is mostly target on the residents around and provide them a recreation

area. Besides, this clubhouse is suitable for all ages but it is mostly used by the people

who are prefer on exercising.

How will the clubhouse being promoted & encouraged?

Clubhouse are encouraged by giving out each of the houses a member card and it is

free for them. Besides, clubhouse is promoted by running Facebook ads and display

ads on nearby.

Benefits of the clubhouse

This clubhouse had its benefits by providing a:

Recreation area for the residents.

A places for residents to exercise.

Doesn’t block the wind come through as being built only 1 floor.

Conclusion

Last but not least, I hope this proposal report will get used by the authorities and also

will help the residents nearby to enhance their spirit of understanding and foster their

relationship. Besides, I wish also that the building will be constructed according to the

key initiatives as shown above.

The most important things in this assignment is I had learn how to make site analysis

and site inventory before propose a report. Moreover, I had also learn about the role

of building team players in construction industries. I appreciate their works and roles

that they contribute to our natural and building environment.
