in its opening weekend $47,510,360.
Was Interstellar successful?
• Interstellar has not done as well as expected. In North
America they expected the film at least around $50-55
million but it has got only $47 million which they found
quite disappointing.
• Overall reviews have been quite good but some people
have said that they found it “confusing” and “too long”
• The film though has been successful with box office
figures beating many other films out at the time.
What role did synergy play?
• The reason why the film was so eagerly awaited was
because of the promotion of the film.
• The teaser advert gave the film attention it needed and
curiosity on what the film would be about
• An interactive website was made with Google which
included many games and app features which engaged
people in the film.
• Two books called “Interstellar, Beyond Time and Place”
and “The science of Interstellar” were released to tell you
more information about how and why the film was made.
This makes the audience who will watch the film larger.
