MAIN CHARACTERS Jamie Randall. (Jake Gyllenhaal) :He’s a charming pharmaceutical salesman.Successful with women because he is self-confident, handsome and smart.

Jamie is a stubborn, persistent and hardworking man who wants to achieve economic success above all things until he meets Maggie.

Maggie Murdock. (Anne Hathaway):She is a free spirit artist with a strong personality, cheerful and flirtatious.

she suffers from Parkinson's disease but she tries not to be vulnerable because of it.

she tries not to get involved emotionally. She just keeps superficial relationships with people until she falls in love with Jamie.

ANECDOTES It was filmed entirely in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and

surrounding areas, in autumn 2009. Jake Gyllenhaal spent time with Jamie Reidy, author of the book on which the film is based, while Anne Hathaway spent time with Lucy Roucis, an actress afflicted with Parkinson's disease, which has a role in the film.

At one point, the director Edward Zwick jumped into bed with Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal for a group photo. This photo was used for the poster of the film, with Zwick digitally removed.
