26 Aug 2014 7:00PM Self-Efficacy## #
Self-efficay involved in two type, high-efficacy and low efficacy.
High-efficacy is people who faced difficult, he treated it as a challenge.
For low-efficacy person, he will escape or avoid it.#
#During my secondary school day, i have a friend called Xue
Ying, She is a high self-efficacy person. Every time she received tasks
that she was not good in it, she can still finish it with faith. Example, she
is not good in math, she always got scolded by teacher as her math
result was terrible, but this doesn't make her avoided this situation, she
do exercises and even still finished the exercise given by the teacher.
She set a goal for herself, score full marks in math exam. #
#On the other hand, another friend Geok Lian was a low self-
efficacy person. She also faced the same problem, but she had decided
to escape from this problem. She don't want to do those exercise and
she always skipped math class. She always blamed the teacher and she
believe that she will never get good result.#

26 Aug 2014 11:00PM False Consensus#
#False consensus is people judge a thing/person by its negative
image. For example, most of the bad guy had tattoo on their body, so
people implant themselves that “people who had tattoo on their body is
bad guy”. Majority of people have a mind of “people who got tattoo on
body” is a gangster. Some of people even judged them and keep a
distance from them. Parents taught their children to not get a tattoo as
its a symbol of awful.#
#When i was young, my parent implanted me a mind of getting
tattoo is worst and bad. Even in the school, getting tattoo is prohibited
and its stated on the school rules. #
#During my church service session, i saw a guy that with some
alphabet tattoo that showed obviously on his left hand, its rare to seen a
person that who has tattoo attending church service. My first impression
to this guy was bad. But after told me about his story of the tattoo on his
hand, i totally change my mind. The tattoo on his hand is actually to
marked the date when God save his life from death. There is a meaning
behind. Another case, In Iban culture you could found tattoo on a man.
The meaning of having tattoo is their significant of glory, they won a fight
so they use tattoo to show others how powerful they are.

Counterfactual Thinking##
Counterfactual thinking is a past that doesn't happen. It divided
into two type, which is Upward counterfactual and downward
counterfactual. #
#Upward counterfactual is associated with negative respond.
Example that i can remember is when i got bad result on business test, i
said to myself “if only i spent my sleeping time to study business of
sleeping”. I was regret, so i wont let this problem happen again. This
help me to avoid the same situation happen next time.#
#Downward counterfactual is associated with positive respond.
That day i falled down from the stage, luckily i didn't broke my leg.
Another experience, my friend had a positive personalities. One day, she
involved in a car accident, she told herself to calm down and luckily she
didn't broke her leg. Its helped her to stay clam.

16 September 2014 7:00PM Confirmation bias#
#Confirmation bias is what is the way you select or find your
information. If you dislike a person, you may only search the bad side of
that person to support your own view. #
#Another experience is recently i had confirmation bias on Ms S,
whatever she did i sure would judge her. One day, i saw her hugging a
guy beside the lake, i shocked and spread the rumour. I believed that
Ms S is the kind of person that unfriendly and has a hidden motive to
approaching to that guy.During my working day at a bookshop, i work as
a cashier. One day, a family came to counter to pay their stuff. I
remembered the lucky draw flyer was took by youngest son. After the
mother took their stuff off my counter, she realised she lost the lucky
draw flyer. But actually the flyer is with the youngest. The mother blame
the big brother. She said “ I asked you to help me take the flyer, why u
gave it to your younger brother? Why you always so careless” The big
brother soon to respond and trying to defend himself. But the mother
continued scolded him. She said “Now you blame your younger brother
la? you are the eldest, you should take responsible”. The mother make
shame in front of everyone, and told me the biggest son is lazy and
irresponsible. The next moment the mother ask the big brother to carry
the stuff. From i opinion, the mother is ridiculous. She had confirmation
bias on his big son. Im glad that she is not my mom. #

20 Octorber 2014 7:00PM Reciprocation#
Reciprocation is like someone has given me a gift or do me a
favour that i unexpected, i would have a feeling of returning something
back to that person. In the other way, i treat a person nicely and i hoping
for a repay. From my experience, the management of the grocery
supermarket using this way to let people buy their things. Me and my
mom walked in a grocery store, the friendly worker approached us
starting to introduce their item and given us the free sample, me and my
mom felt guilty so we bought their item. #
#During Chiness New Year, me and my friends would bought
mandarin orange to people house, and before we asking for Ang Pow,
we would said “something good” to elder, although this is a kind of
culture, the elder must give the younger Ang Pow. But for this situation
is, we hope for higher amount of Ang Pow.#
#During my working day, i worked at a Korean BBQ restaurant at
Johor Bahru. I served the customer, i make them felt like they are very
important customer. Example, i chatted and talked to them, and gave
them extra service like if they want to refill the side dishes i risked my life
to sneaked into the kitchen and refill the side dishes for the customer.
And all i want from them is a praise or tips. Another example, the
customer is troublesome and bad attitude, but i still served the customer
nicely. And i made them felt guilty as my smile is always on my face
however they treat me with their bad attitude. So in the end they gave
me tips.Page 6Social Psychology JournalWoo Shir Ley - FNBE0214
23 September 2014 7:00PM Observational learning#
Observational learning is you observe what your people do, you
imitated it.#
When i was young, i saw my mom used left hand to hold spoon
and right hand to hold the fork. So i learned from her used this method
and i thought this is the correct way to use fork and spoon. One day, i
lunch with friends in a Bubba Grum. i saw Weishuen used her left hand
to hold her fork and right hand is using spoon. Then i question her, she
also learned this method from her family. Now i realised, everything i
had learned by observe my mom action, that i thought was correct may
wrong.#

Unbalanced. From my experience, I met a guy at church service. I found
i like that guy, and the guy like me too. Both of us is Christian and we
always went church service together. He like to worship god and me too.
Both of us joined the same cell group and same ministry in church, he
like to meet new people so he joined usher team and I like to meet new

16 September 2014 7:45PM Halo Effect#
The first outernal impression can effect how you think what he
is.#
During my first day of school, i saw a girl wearing a ZARA smart
dress and Ray Ban sunglasses i though she is rich. I stayed a distance
from the girl. And i saw a guy who talkative, i assumed he is friendly and
helpful. Then soon i become his best friend.#
#Other than that, i had to choose a place to bring my mother to
dinner as that day is her birthday. I choose a restaurant that decorated
with flower and the atmosphere is filled with lavender smell, the light is
yellow, the chief is wearing a tall hat. I assumed this restaurant can
provide me good quality food and service.
