INTRODUCTION I have done some audience research to enable me to know what content my target audience want to see. My research is primary as I created a questionnaire and asked 10 college students to complete it. To create my questionnaire I had to think of specific questions to ask them including what their age is, and what they’d like to see in my magazine. I used multiple choice so that my data would be simple and easy to understand whilst still providing me with good opinions. With these results, I can now make a target audience profile and design my magazine based on the answers I received.

I asked this question to get a better understanding of what type of artists my target audience wanted to see featured in my magazine. From this, I can see that 60% of my audience would mainly prefer to see bands over solo artists which would make sense as most indie artists are bands. This shows that my target audience have a good understanding of indie music and favour bands over solo artists.

I asked this question to get further detail on what kind of content my target audience would like to see. The overall result was very balanced, but the most popular feature was new music with 21%. Asking this question showed me that most people want all of the features and there isn’t one specific one that they favour over the others. By asking this question, I know now to feature all of the ideas in my magazine to make it more appealing to my target audience.
