How To Make a Good Business Pitch
How To Get Any Investor To Buy Into Your Company, At Your Price
Capture Them Right Away
The second you start your presentation, make sure to begin raving and raving about your business or product. Keep talking about the pros, and show the people you are pitching to the cons could be overcome easily.
Praise
When you are talking about your business, praise it with facts, not fiction. No one wants wants to hear about your dreams.
Don’t talk too much. Make it short and sweet. No one finds a person who rambles interesting.
Know your stuff
Sales
Profits
Margins
Competition
Market
Status
Future Estimates
Be careful
The Investors will ask you questions, it’s inevitable.
Make sure to answer the questions right.
With a smile
Answer the question straight & Honest
At the end of your answer, capitalize on why your business is the best at your question.
Again, don’t make your answer too long.
Don’t talk too fast, it’ll seem like you are nervous.
Manners
Wear a nice suit
Have a firm handshake
Not too sweaty, and not too dry
Clean teeth, nails…
Talk with confidence
Always have a smile on
Show respect for the people you are pitching to.
Show Potential
Show Confidence
Talk about your company’s success
Talk about your previous personal successes
Show the investors you are very smart & Investable.
Don’t Get Ahead of Yourself
When calculating your growth estimates, don’t make them too crazy.
Rome wasn’t built in a day. Your business won’t be either. Take it slow and be smart.
Show your company’s future potential, but don’t make it look like you bit off more than you could chew.
Organization. It’s key.
Investors want to see charts, graphs, and explanations, showing them what’s good and what’s bad about you.
Make graphs and charts about the things that are best about you.
Mistakes Pitchers make, which You Shouldn’t
Poor Appearance
Bad explanation
Don’t know their numbers
Crazy evaluation
Not enough praise
Don’t answer questions well
SHOW THAT YOU HAVE POTENTIAL
What we covered
Be interesting, and don’t talk too much or stammer.
Praise your business.
Know your numbers.
Answer questions well.
Look good and be polite.
Show that you have potential.
Be organized. It’s key.
Be realistic.
