INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM 2016-17

Currently $1.7 billion in infrastructure works:

• Repairs and Maintenance

• Minor New Works

• Capital Works

• Works in Progress

MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS

• Arlparra Community Development - Roads, headworks and 15 dwellings

• Sealing Mereenie Loop - Upgrade and seal approximately 43 kilometres of Larapinta Drive

• Roper / Wilton River Crossings - Improve flood immunity, safety and reliability for communities

• Palmerston Regional Hospital - Construction of a two level 116 bed hospital

• Pickertaramoor Road - Sealing of road to Port Melville

• Keep River Plains Road – To support agriculture and aquaculture industries

• Two level 116 bed hospital.

• 22 400 m2 of floor area.

• Consists of eight buildings.

• To date, 100% of contracts awarded locally -$72 million released to market.

• Works on target for completion March 2018.

ROPER / WILTON RIVER CROSSINGS

• Construction of two bridges – Roper and Wilton Rivers.

• Reduce road closures.

• Improved access to Arnhem Land including Ngukurr and Numbulwar.

• Wilton crossing - completion late 2016.

• Roper crossing – completion late 2017.

• Wadeye Police Station and Accommodation

• Alice Springs Hospital

GALIWINKU HOUSING

• 40 new homes completed and 36 homes repaired.

• 40 additional homes to be “slow built”.

• Providing local training, employment and business opportunities.

• Victoria Highway Upgrades - Little and Big Horse Creek.

• 98 New and Replacement Dwellings - 18 communities.

• Police Facilities - Alyangula and Angurugu.

• Pinelands Industrial Precinct Access.

• Taminmin College Science and General Learning Areas.

• Barneson Boulevard Link Stage 1.

BARNESON BOULEVARD

• New road entry into Darwin CBD.

• Better distribution of commuter traffic.

• Design commencing.

• Consultation with impacted property owners and public.

ROCKY BOTTOM CREEK BRIDGE

• Modular, pre-fabricated steel structure.

• Single lane bridge span of 30 metres.

WHOLE OF GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT REFORMS

• All Capital Grants issued will have a Buy Local condition attached.

• 30 percent weighting for Local Content for tender evaluations across all projects, not just construction.
