1. Restricts new talentAs the employees are selected within the organization, the scope of infusing new and fresh talent gets restricted.It prevents new blood from entering the organization. New blood brings innovative ideas, fresh thinking and dynamism into the organization.2. Lethargic employees As the employees know that they will be promoted, they may become lethargic and their efficiency may decrease.3. Absence of competition Recruitment through internal sources restricts new talent and thereby discourages competition among the existing employees.4. Frequent transfers In this source of recruitment employees are frequently transferred. This doesn’t allow them an opportunity to become efficient in any single job. Consequently, the productivity in the organization gets lowered.5. Not available in new organization Recruitment through internal source is only possible in the previously established organizations. No organization can fill all its vacancies from internal sources.
