IIT Roorkee Motorsports

• Founded the official Formula Student team of IIT Roorkee in 2010

• Engineered, designed & built Race Cars for international events

• With strong backing of industry sponsors, one of the hottest student

groups in the campus

• Today, the team boasts of more than 75 students from different

engineering streams building an Electric Race Car for FS UK 2015

• First Car - Petrol Type for FS Australia (December 2011)

• Only Indian car among 30 international teams from 6 countries

• First team in the competition history to finish the final race in debut year

• Fuel Economy : 1st

• Cost & Manufacturing : 6th

• Overall : 16th

• Second Car - Electric Hybrid Type for FS UK, Silverstone (July 2013)

• Only Hybrid car among 130 international teams including 7 from India

• Won the 2013 IMechE UK - Formula Student Award and GBP 2500, which

is given to only two most promising non-UK international teams.

• Cost and Manufacturing : Global - 30th , India - 1st

• Business Case : Global - 31st , India - 1st

• Overall : Global - 61st , India - 2nd
