  • Perspectives:ways of representing situations and problems.When we say that people have diverse perspectives we mean that they see or envision the set of possibilities differently.Perspectives are how we organize knowledge.

  • Heuristics:ways of generating solutions or problems.Heuristics apply within perspectives.Given a perspective, a heuristic tells a person where to search for new solutions or what actions to take.Heuristics can vary in their sophistication, and they can be immediate reactions to situations or simple rules of thumb.
