Managers and businesses need to look at the here and now, along with the future when it comes to travel risk management. Due to the ever changing nature of travel and business [new markets, new locations, altered conditions, etc.] Any plan or process that exclusively focused on historical data and trends is both wrong and dangerous. Response, no matter how admirable, is no excuse for failure to plan and forecast. Without wasting everyone’s time and resources on every possible trend, threat, likelihood and consequence, businesses will need to provide on-going analysis of current circumstances as they relate to the individual and their activity/travel and the specific, available options to mitigate these plausible events. This will likely involve conjoined internal and external data and resources.
