OBJECTIVES
CRVA: HISTORYWith an organization-wide vision of Southern hospitality and world-class customer service, the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA) seeks to ensure that the visitors and events that come to the area have a positive experience. Our responsibilities include destination marketing through Visit Charlotte and management of Charlotte’s public assembly facilities which include Bojangles Coliseum, Charlotte Convention Center, NASCAR Hall of Fame, Ovens Auditorium and Time Warner Cable Arena. Guided by three main mission objectives, the CRVA markets by bringing visitors and events to the Charlotte region, manages by making the visitors’ experience positive and the events successful, and maximizes by marketing and managing in a way that continues to bring visitors and events back to the region.
The 13-member board of directors gives leadership and guidance to newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer Tom Murray (press release). Management staff of the CRVA reports directly to the board which in turn is accountable to the City of Charlotte and the Mayor's office.
The CRVA manages city-owned assets whose value exceeds $500 million, employs 200 fulltime employees and a variety of temporary positions and has an annual operating budget of $50 million. On an annual basis, the CRVA facilities host over 600 events attended by approximately 2 million residents and visitors.

ON THE JOB INJURYHow To Handle Emergency/ Non-Emergency Work Related Injuries:
Injured employees should report the incident to the immediate supervisor, foreman, manager, security or First Aid Staff.
NOTE: Drug & alcohol testing WILL be required when the employee is involved in an on-the-job accident that causes personal injury requiring medical attention or damage to CRVA property in excess of $100.00
North Carolina Law allows the employer to choose the physician (Presbyterian Urgent Care Location) and direct medical care of the injured employee.
NOTE: Treatment by the employee’s physician is not covered and all bills/cost will be the responsibility of the employees
ON THE JOB INJURYEmergency: After Hours Incidents
In the event of an after hour incident, employees should go to Presbyterian Hospital Emergency room ONLY. A copy of the “On The Job Injury” completed online (https://claims.ci.charlotte.nc.us/) and original “Medical Treatment Referral” form should be submitted to Human Resources by noon (12:00pm) of the next business day.
ON THE JOB INJURYNon-Emergency Incidents:
In the event of anon-emergency incident employee and supervisor should complete the “On The Job Injury” form online (https://claims.ci.charlotte.nc.uc/) with the supervision contact information. Supervisor completes the “Medical Treatment Referral” form to send with the employee. Supervisor takes/sends employee to Presbyterian Urgent Care location with the completed “Medical Treatment Referral” and “On The Job Injury” forms. The employee returns the completed “Medical Treatment Referral” form to the supervisor who evaluates the work status and sends ALL FORMS to Human Resources immediately. Your Cooperation is vital for this process.
ON THE JOB INJURYFollow-up:
If follow-up care is scheduled and Risk Management has accepted the claim, the supervisor must give the employee another “Medical Treatment Referral” form and allow the employee to return to the doctor.
If follow-up care is not scheduled or Risk Management has not accepted but the employee requests additional care, Human Resources will call Risk management for instructions prior authorizing any additional treatment. All employees who are out of work for more than five (5) calendar days must set up a conference with Human Resources, by phone or in person. This is required for receiving lost time benefits/compensation.

WEATHER RELATED CLOSING
In this industry the weather does not affect the status of the event therefore all third (3rd) shift employees must report to work despite weather conditions.
If poor weather prevents an employee from reporting to work, the absence will be without pay. However, with the approval of the Building Manager, the employee can use accrued vacation time to prevent the loss of income.
If a facility is closed because of poor weather conditions, employees will be notified by a recording available for listening by calling the switchboard at their respective facility. In this case, the absence will be with pay.
PUNCTUALITY POLICY
An employee must notify management of each tardy when reporting to work. The proper notice time is fifteen (15) minutes or more before the start of shift.

POLICIES FOR OTHER FACILITIES
The Time Warner Cable Arena policies remain the same regardless of the various venues you may work. If you are to be absent of late to work you must call you immediate supervisor/manager. If there is no answer, leave a detailed voice message. It will be your immediate supervisor/manager to notify the other facility.
