INTRODUCTION

With so many social media websites out there, it’s impossible to post fresh content to each of them regularly without a little help.

When you get right down to it, you will likely have to multitask in order to populate a large number of social media sites with quality content in a manageable amount of time.

In the following slides, we will give you some tips for multitasking in the world of social media!

HAVE A STRATEGY

With a limited amount of time and lots to do, it is vital to have a strategy in place.

Your strategy might simply involve getting organized. You might create a content calendar that shows when all of your posts will be made, and on which social media channels, for example.

Your strategy might also involve being realistic about how much you plan to do. For example, you might choose to focus on only 2

social media channels and create really high quality content for them, rather than dividing your time between 5 channels and only doing a mediocre job in each of them.

BE WARY OF BLINDLY RECYCLING CONTENT

With all of the work to do on social media, it can be very tempting to quickly cover more ground by recycling content from one platform and using it on another. As appealing as this option is, you should avoid

doing it! If you flood your followers with a multitude of

duplicate content, they will soon become frustrated by only seeing one message.

Instead, try to craft unique messages that are tailored to each social media channel.

…Don’t recycle all of that content!

ANALYTICS

Analytics tools can be incredibly useful for those who use social media websites on a regular basis.

Most social media websites have basic analytics functions built in that are free to use!

You will learn a lot about your followers by studying analytics data. You might learn what kinds of content your

readers enjoy most, and the times of day they are most likely to engage with your content, for example.

Social media multitasking will be much more efficient when you know when and what your audience responds to best.

UTILIZE SCHEDULING APPS

You might be thinking, “But won’t posting all of this content take a really long time?”

Normally, this would be true. However, there are several apps that make posting content and staying up-to-date on social media content very manageable.

One example is Hootsuite, a platform designed to help you schedule content on social media sites. Programs like Hootsuite allow social media managers to schedule multiple posts on different social media sites ahead of time.

Apps like Feedly and Google Alerts make consuming social media content incredibly easy as well, by notifying you about content that is relevant to your brand.
