One of the best ways to build a subscriber list is by organizing and hosting a

giveaway event. A giveaway is a marketing promotion event where a group of

contributors come together and offer their freebie items to participants. On

marketing giveaways, the freebies are offered in exchange for participant's email

addresses.

As the host of a giveaway, first you need to find 10-20 marketers who will play the

role of contributors. The contributors will offer their own gifts and promote the

event to their list of subscribers or by any other means (social networks, blogs,

etc). Every contributor prepares an opt-in page for visitors to opt in to his mailing

list to receive his submitted gift. Anyone who wants to download the gift must opt

in to the contributor's mailing list first.

The contributors will generate massive traffic to the website where all the gifts are

You could do a giveaway in almost any niche that has business owners who can

give something away. Even a local chamber of commerce could organize a

To find contributors for your event you should check the most popular forums in

your niche and contact marketers who are interested in building their subscriber

list. You can also search popular Facebook groups or pages and ask the Facebook

groups/pages owners to participate in your giveaway.

The necessary costs to make this happen are an autoresponder (I use

GetResponse), a wordpress website and a paid plugin. Usually any internet

marketer that is building a list already has a website and autoresponder. So the

only thing that is missing is a paid plugin that will do a proper job and won't cost

much money.
