How to Set Up a PayPal

Account:

A Guide for Absolute

Newbies

What is PayPal?

PayPal is an online

payment processor.

It allows buyers to make

online purchases without

giving out their

credit/debit card details.

PayPal also makes it

easy for sellers to get

paid.

All sellers have to do is

give out the e-mail

address they associate

with their PayPal

Account.

If you are going to sell

goods and/or services

online, a PayPal

account is a must-

have for you.

Let’s create your

PayPal account.

But first, you need

to have two things

ready:

1) A valid e-mail

address.

2) Your bank account

details.

Now, let’s begin.

Go to the

PayPal website:

http://www.paypal.com

You will

automatically be

brought to the

PayPal site for

your country.

Click the

Sign Up link.

You will see this:

Select Premier

by clicking the

gold button.

Next, fill out the

details in the

following page:

Let’s take a closer look:

Your e-mail goes here:

Make sure you enter a

strong password (at

least 8 characters).

A strong password is a

combination of letters

and numbers.

Filling out the rest

of the form should

be easy.

But wait…

There’s more.

Make sure your

phone number is valid

or you will not be

able to proceed.

Do not put the plus

sign (+) before the

country code.

Do not put a

plus sign!

You will need a debit

or a credit card to

verify your account.

But don’t worry if you

don’t have one yet.

You can verify your

account later on.

Just un-check

this box:

Un-check this if

you don’t have a

credit or debit

card yet.

Click the

golden button:

Congratulations!

You now have a

PayPal account.

Now, it’s time to

associate your

bank account with

your PayPal

account.

Click the

Withdraw link.

You will see this:

Click this:

Since you haven’t

added your bank

account to your

PayPal account just

yet, you will see this:

Remember that your

PayPal name should

exactly match your

bank account name.

Fill out the form.

To avoid problems,

make sure you

don’t make any

mistake.

Wait! Where can

you find your

bank’s code?

Here’s an example:

Don’t forget to hit

the golden button

when you’re done.

You may have to

follow some more

instructions to

confirm your bank

account.
