Martina Navratilova was the keynote speaker at a Luncheon Fundraiser for The Women’s Foundation of Colorado on Thursday, November 3rd for this year’s annual event.

The tennis legend delivered a keynote address and attended a VIP reception for the fundraiser.

In addition, Martina also stopped by at a local tennis club to talk to teenage girls in a USTA tennis clinic about overcoming adversity and what tennis has done for her life.









At this year's fundraiser luncheon, The Women’s Foundation of Colorado introduced a new tagline:“Think Big. Be Bold. Stay Focused. And Accomplish More.”









“Think Big. Be Bold. Stay Focused. And Accomplish More.” These principles helped Navratilova through her amazing tennis career where she won a record of nine Wimbledon championships.









Martina also spoke about how these principles have guided her through challenges in her life. She received extreme criticism and scrutiny when she came out as a lesbian. Her biggest challenge by far, however, was what she endured after learning of her breast cancer diagnosis.









The audience of nearly 2,000 was predominantly female and very pleased with the presentation and message.











The goal of The Women’s Foundation of Colorado is that every woman in Colorado is economically self-sufficient, and every girl in Colorado is on the path to economic self-sufficiency. Their mission is to build resources and lead change so that the women and girls of Colorado are full and equal participants in society.
