Dear readers,
Muslims all over the world agree that the monthRamadhan is a very special month. As mentioned inthe Holy Quran it was during Ramadhan some 15centuries ago that the first revelation was made toprophet Mohammad. And since then there have been many important events thathappened during the month Ramadhan, including the most famous victory of theBattle of Badar. Indonesia proclaimed its dependence from the Dutch also duringthe month of Ramadhan. Somehow Ramadhan is just a perfect time for reunions.Ramadhan also calls for social engagement with friends. Many would attest thatthe idea of getting together during the Holy month goes along with the spirit ofcommunal love. Close family members are a priority, but it does not mean thatfriends are set aside. Everyone is welcome to share the evening meals, because itis part of the spirit of generosity.
It all culminates with the biggest get-together of all at the Idul Fitri Celebration, which is scheduled to fall on the 8th of August. There are so many ways to celebratejoyous occasion. But indulging in excessive eating is certainly not one of them. There are verses in the Quran with strictly forbid excessiveness, not to indulgeuncontrollably. Regarding eating, Prophet Mohammad counseled Muslims“to fill only one third of the stomach with food, another third with water and theremaining third with air”. In another word, do not overeat.
Here are several tips on staying fit and healthy during Idul Fitri :1. Avoid excess eating2. Go for high-fiber food3. Drink enough water4. Eat small portions5. Exercise
So the message that BIMASENA would like to convey to its members:Celebrate Idul Fitri faithfully but do not go overboard
JULY-AUGUST 2013
Dear Nawala Readers,We extend to our readers :
Selamat Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1434 HijriyahMinal Aidin Wal Faizin
