Onepager: Goods are from Mars, products are from Venus

DESCRIPTION

This onepager is all about the old difference between the transporter and his customers. No rocket science here, but it needs to be said once in a while: there is a big difference between a shipment of products and a shipment of goods. The customer ships products with individual – and sometimes specific -properties and requirements. The transporter, on the other hand, ships a load unit containing goods. Think of it as the difference between cans of Coke en route to a store (the customer view) and a pallet of liquid goods en route to an address (the transporter view). The onepager describes this difference and also explains briefly what is currently being done to merge the two perspectives somewhat. The reason for this is of course to increase efficiency (for the transporter) and flexibility (for the customer).
