Over the next few slides I am going to walk you through what most students go through in their young years before settling down.

The question is “Is there a better way?”

Imagine when you a small and you had big dreams

Dreams of going to the moon, or being the Prime Minister

SoDid you dream …

Then as you grow older those dreams turn more practical …being a fireman or an engine driver. The superman dreams were a thing of the past.

Now as you grew older your dreams changed

As you get into your mid teens those dreams are no longer dreams.

In fact you probably forgotten them by now!

Why!!!

But as you got even olderYou started to stopDreaming… why?

You have started to think of studying hard to land yourself a good job after you finish university.

Maybe you may not go to college so working straight after school may be something you have to think about seriously.

The reason is life starts to get In the way

Do you realized that your school and college years have groomed you for being a good employee.

These years have taken its financial toll on your parents who most probably paid for your schooling.

The cost of schooling is well into the 6 figures if you went to a private school.

So if you were to enter the work force with a starting salary of $50,000 dollars where will it take you?

Lets look at weekly expenses that you might have as a young person…

The expenses per week are:Rent $200Food $150Transportation $150Phone & Internet $20Taxes $ 178Entertainment $50Misc $50

Balance is $192 savings per week

How much are your expenses?

So lets see if you were to save $192 every week how much would you have in a month…

The answer to that is $768 in savings

If you were to save that amount for 12 months it will be $9216 in savings

After 10 years it will be $92,160 in savings

10 years just $92.160

We are not taking into the realities of life such as:

Getting marriedHaving childrenChildren’s schoolingMortgage repaymentsEtc.

This is looking at life is it would never change…

The cost of living…

What do most young people do after a couple of years of working hard at a job or two jobs.

They save $5000 to $10,000 and then go for an overseas holiday and spend all their savings just to have fun, excitement and experience the world.

The cost of having a good time too early?

They want to save their money for that overseas holiday

They blow away their savings on today and don’t plan for tomorrowEtc.

They then head back home to pay off credit card debt and to start all over again in their mid to late twenties.
