PLANNING
The background of the digipack will remain black. This makes it easier for the text to stand out against the background making it easier for the audience to read the title of the digipack. I will create the dark background around the artist larger, so the background has more room for the font.
The font of the digipack will include a psychedelic pattern, as the fill for the text, to connote a sense of sanity and hallucination. I will be using images and patterns which connote the psychedelic style and use photo shop to distort the font around the artist to make the artist the focal point.
The artist will be distributed in the centre of the digi pack, to connote his importance and relevance to the record. The audience will understand
that this is the main focal point of the record and they will be drawn into the importance of the artist.
I would like to include a psychedelic pattern to fill my font with. I have researched into the types of psychedelic
patterns to gain some inspiration for how I would like my font to be presented on my digi pack. I feel that this would give my digi pack a more interesting look, and will attract members of my target audience, as they will be familiar
with the style of art as this type of pattern was frequently used for music posters and CD covers in the 70’s and 80’s, the era when my target audience would have kept up with
the current music trends .The images also portray a sense of insanity, hallucination and strangeness. This will relate to the name of my album
cover and the star image andpersona of my artist, Tim Starr. By keeping the hallucinating patterns in the font as
the filling, this also may portray the artists inner madness.
Music posters with psychedelic art and patterns… INSPIRATION
FOR EXAMPLE:I like the way this poster has the font distorted around the main image, and this is what I would like to replicate in both my digi pack and my poster.
