BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Zhujiang (Pearl River) Beer is one of the most
famous beer brands in China. Presently, Zhujiang
(Pearl River) Beer has annual capacity of 20 million
hl and is ranked second for single brand sales. In
China, Zhujiang (Pearl River) Beer is credited with
"Southern Pearl".
Guangxi Zhujiang (Pearl River) Brewery is located
in Nanning ASEAN Economic Development Zone.
The total planned investment for this brewery,
covering more than 20 hectares, is approximately
RMB 525 million and will be realised in two phases.
The brewery is planned to have an annual
capacity of 4 million hl.
The first phase project is planned to have annual capacity of 2 million hl with a total investment of
RMB 300 million.
This brewery combines the advantages of optimised
industrial design and optimised process flow design,
advanced high technology equipment, and fully
automated control. The plant is an additional
important production facility of Zhujiang (Pearl River)
Breweries. The installations and the equipment,
including a 40,000 bph electronic-valve packaging
line have been designed to produce non-pasteurized
beer.
The project started in March, 2010. Lehui was
awarded the contract to realise this project turn-key.
The contract covered raw materials handling system,
brewhouse, yeast system, fermentation shop,
filtration system, bright beer shop, and packaging
lines. The project was co missioned successfully
taken into production in May, 2011.

Lehui supplied a complete 650 hl brewhouse
system consisting of a Lehui Mash Filter, two
mash tuns and premash tun, and an automated
dynamic low pressure boiling & vacuum
vaporizing system. The advanced and modern
technologies applied have effectively reduced
the occupation rate and allow 12 production
batches each day.
The performance indices (KPI) of this Lehui
brewhouse are equivalent to international state-
of-the-art levels.
The low pressure dynamic boiling & vacuum vaporizing system effectively reduced
vaporization by 4%. With the 100% energy recovery system, steam consumption is reduced
through energy re-circulation.

Mashing conveying pipelines
With the process requirements satisfied, "U"
bend is minimized to reduce liquid and material
accumulation at pipelines, ensuring the
cleanness and the flavor, reducing the energy
consumption and cleaning.
In addition, the sorted and well-organized
pipeline routes also give the brewhouse a
beautiful appearance.

The Lehui mash filter is one of the most advanced wort
filtration systems. This excellent filter system is also
incorporated in this brew house system.
Major features:
Single point high hanging filter fixation may achieve
successive pull-plate structure, facilitating smooth
transportation, rapid filter cloth changing, and easy
operation.
Through the non-membrane cabinet type, the filter
plates are connected one by one. The filter area is
larger compared to the membrane filter type. In
addition, high maintenance costs are avoided as
membrane filter plates need to be replaced after
several times of pressurization and air bleeding. The
cabinet type filter cost is approximately a third
compared to the price of membrane plate, which is
also advantageous in terms of maintenance cost.
The investment and maintenance cost are low
compared to membrane filter for the same
capacity.
Single set of mash filter may handle 25T malt to 3fulfill 130m brew charge. With the filter plates, it
may meet different filtration requirements for
different charges.
High efficiency filter cloth auto cleaning ensures
effective cleaning and reduces maintenance
cost, without manual operation and interference.
With special center mash intake and sparging
technology, the mash filter ensures even and
balanced distribution of mash and thorough
sparging, which guarantees the yield, extends
intervals between cloth cleaning and reduces
water consumption.

The different systems in the fermentation shop
were designed in order to minimize operator
interference and operational cost. Pipe routing
of the various systems (yeast propagation,
yeast storage, CIP cleaning, and de-aerated
water preparation) was optimised and
minimized to reduce power consumption.

installations was applied also to reduce power
consumption.

lines, one common beer packaging line with a
capacity of 36,000 bph and one electronic
valve packaging line for non-pasteurized beer
with a capacity of 40,000 bph. The packaging
lines are fully automated, from de-crater to
palletizer to minimise operator assistance.
The two packaging lines run effectively and
stable and at modern performance levels.
Space, the Lehui design team selects the optimal
and appropriate bottle cleaning processes as
well as the configuration to ensure the required
cleaning effect and line performance.

The Lehui electronic valve packaging line for non-pasteurized beer is the first China
manufactured filler of its kind and equates to
high international standards.

The central heating pasteurizer chosen for this
project, is a newly developed type of pasteuriser.
The machine is equipped with a high precision
unit control, the high operational efficiency
ensures a low power consumption and short
cleaning cycles and effort. It also requires
reduced maintenance and is easy to install.

BrewTech control system has been fully applied
in this project. Including raw materials handling,
fermentation, yeast, filtration, bright beer and
CIP etc., all systems are connected seamlessly
through the batch receipt management system
and fully automatic production is realized. The
stability, security and flexibility of the BrewTech
control system are fully performed during the
whole process of beer production in this brewery.
