Persephone Productions Shooting Schedule

SHOT NO. SHOT TYPE ACTION MISE EN SCENE 1 CLOSE UP Close up of TV

with a news report playing about Hiroshima. Still shot which sharply change to a medium long shot. (Just the news reporter talking for now).

Black and white screening from the 1940’s on screen. (If I can I will use a retro TV) the room will be dark so that all focus is on the TV.

2 MEDIUM LONG SHOT

Shot of the TV but further away following on from the past shot.

3 PAN, LONG SHOT Establishing shot of seal sands. (Starting from the sea and then around). Showing the docks and parts of the chemical plants/ surroundings.

Showing the chemical plants/ nuclear power plant to symbolise the idea of radioactive poisoning.

4 BODY SHOT Shot of Rema stood still with no expression looking longingly into the camera.

She will be dressed in second hand clothes, which are stained with mud, blood and holes. She will be wearing white contact lenses, which will show us that she has no retina, which was an effect from the bombing. She will look pale and ill, as I will use the

illnesses of radioactive poisoning.

5 BODY SHOT Following shot from the previous but Rema looking away from the camera to sea/ chemical plants.

Body language will stay the same throughout these shots (she will not move).

6 LONG SHOT Wide shot with Rema in it to identify where she is (seal sands).

7 CLOSE UP Fade in on Rema’s face showing the injury to her face and the emotion – piercing stare.

Wounds on her face from the bomb. (Makeup and face paint).

8 LONG SHOT Change of location (now in Steetley) of a very similar show of Rema staring at her surroundings.

To show the loss of the bomb and showing there’s nothing left.

9 EXTREME CLOSE UP

Extreme close up of a distorted image/ a wound on Rema’s flesh.

To show the effects on her health.

10 CLOSE UP Close up of imagery – a flame that may look strange and take a while to understand what it is.

Flame from a lighter or fire.

11 EXTREME CLOSE UP

This will be an extreme close up of Rema’s eye to show the white lenses, which may be seen as quite distressing.

To show the effects of the bomb on her health and face.

12 EXTREME CLOSE UP

Shot of a palm of a hand (if visible to the camera), which will then face into bark/ inside a tree to show the similar

patterns. 13 MEDIUM SHOT This will then fade

into a different shot of the tree to identify the object from a different angle.

These shots will show the effect on the environment and the destruction it caused.

14 MEDIUM LONG SHOT

This will be of a numerous of trees which have been cut down (in Yorkshire).

15 LONG/WIDE SHOT

This will follow on of a long wide shot of the trees to show how just many have been cut down re grown.

16 LONG SHOT Rema will now be stood in a wood with trees in it holding a bones/ object.

Holding the bones will symbolise the death of humans and animals.

17 MEDIUM CLOSE UP

Of a Ram’s skull which will be faded over into the next shot.

(I will use shots of existing material I have of bones to show what it had on the environment.)

18 CLOSE UP Of Rema’s face with the skull faded over her own face.

Death is upon 0her; this will make the audience think if she’s dead or not.

19 (+1 shot)

EXTREME CLOSE UP (hand held/tilt/birds eye/through the ribs)

Numerous shots of the bones at different angles. (Preferably ribs)

Back to the bones to show the death of animals and the power of what the human has on them. (By holding them.)

20 POV Looking down onto the ribs and at the trees.

21 EXTREME CLOSE UP

Shot of eye again (this time with something going into it if possible).

This will show the tests on people with radioactive poisoning.

22 PAN/LONG SHOT/HAND

Of Steetley with the pier and

HELD barren lands in view.

reflect the idea of loss.

23 PAN/LONG SHOT/HAND HELD

Of Steetley showing the Jewish graveyard.

Graveyard to symbolise loss.

24 MEDIUM CLOSE UPS

Empty graveyard. To show the graveyard and death of the people.

25 MEDIUM CLOSE UP

Rema stood in the middle.

With Rema stood in it, it will show that she’s lost people and is mourning.

26 CLOSE UPS (hand held)

Looking at the gravestone at the different language. (Jewish gravestone).

27 TRACK Views of a figure running (short clips)

Bare feet to show that she doesn’t have shoes. If not – worn down shoes or dirty white socks.

28 TRACK Someone running from behind.

29 LOW ANGLE View of bare feet on the mud.

30 BIRDS EYE VIEW Of Rema laying down looking up.

31 MEDIUM LONG SHOT (180 RULE)

Rema back at Seal sands or Steetley in the right corner.

32 MEDIUM LONG SHOT (180 RULE)

A woman in a gas mask looking back on the left.

This may be controversial as women didn’t have much say in those days and it was just the start of equality for women and later racism. However she is still someone who took part in this as of her descent and where she’s from.

33 LONG SHOT Both figures in shot looking at each other.

34 CLOSE UP Of gas mask. Gas mask with the girl wearing the dress. (She is the on looker).

35 LONG SHOT Of heather with ‘directed by’ over
