In 2016, we talked about…

Getting funds for your business

The importance of working in collaboration

Business structures and choosing the best option

...and plenty other things.

Now…What activities or habits should you practice in 2017 to achieve success?

What are you doing that will not lead you to success? And what do you want to start doing that will lead you to success?

The question is, “How can I find out?”

Page 4: The new face of your business this 2017

Here are 5 hacks and some tips to form new habits for improvement.

Goals

Page 5: The new face of your business this 2017

1. Clarify the new habit

It should be as clear and actionable as possible.

For example, instead of saying “I will improve such and such”, is way better to say “every morning, the first thing I’ll do is to arrive at the office and make 10 sales calls”.

2. Be objective about the bad habit, despite of your feelings.

A new habit requires to end with the bad old habits. Breaking the routine is though, it’s usual to have different emotions at once.

Page 7: The new face of your business this 2017

When does the bad habit happen?

How many times a day do you do it?

Where are you when it happens?

Who are you with?

What triggers the behavior and causes it to

start?

3. The key to identifying a bad habit is asking yourself some questions

4. Dreaming is important! But it needs to be translated to concrete actions.

“Abstract thinking (is) an effective method to help with discipline… Creating intrinsic motivators (being motivated to do things internally, not through punishments or rewards) is an essential process of building habits that stick…”

-Gregory Ciotti, 99u.com

Facts about change and adaptation:● It is not easy.● You will not feel comfortable.● It won’t happen in a week.

Imagine this is you. Fill in the blanks accordingly:

• “If I do more of this ______, I will have more ____ (appointments, leads, outlets, etc.).

• If I have more ____ (appointments, leads, outlets, etc.), they will result in more ___ (sales, etc.).

• And if I make more ___ (sales, etc.), I will have more earnings.”

See the difference?

5. Automatize your life. Develop processes.

Clear some space in your mind and your agenda by automating what no longer requires your decision.

Further train yourself by reading about techniques such as “Get things Things Done”, “The Pomodoro Technique” or “Don´t Break the Chain”.

Ok… It’s 2017. Now what?

First, decide to make this the year of execution.

Then, map out your new business strategy.

Page 12: The new face of your business this 2017

Mapping it out:1. What exactly is the new strategy?

2. Why does it need to be implemented?

3. What results are we looking for?

4. When should we begin seeing those results if our team is running optimally?

5. Who will be responsible for the various phases of the new strategy?

6. Who will be the key communicator of the new strategy?

Page 13: The new face of your business this 2017

Presenting the new strategy to your team. Consider this:

Everyone has different emotions in face of change. Find out how to make emotions play in favor of strategy implementation.

An absolute change is not always well seen.

● Some team members will go through this curve faster than others.

● Listen to your team, to better help them in the process.

● Some might need one-on-one time.

● Don’t assume you should set apart those who don’t assimilate change.

Leading through change:

Page 16: The new face of your business this 2017

Communicate the scenario if no change were made. Make sure they see how current issues affect, and why they need modification.

Emphasize how these problems will affect them, too. (Example: Low sales, low commissions.)

Explain the effect of doing things the same way on the Company.

Explain how implementing the change will affect the Company's outcome.

Give this information in broad strokes.

Give more detail along the way, as needed.

Train your team

Without training, whatever investment you do make in the new strategy will die on the vine or, at best, produce so much less than you expected.

Page 19: The new face of your business this 2017

Measuring progress is important to:

Evaluate: Is the new strategy effective as is, or does it need changes?

Demonstrate: The team will have more faith in the change, be encouraged and put more effort into the new strategy.

Page 20: The new face of your business this 2017

Reevaluate. Revise. Re-engage.

● Don't let your new strategy go on autopilot; that's a sure way to kill any change.

Continuously brush up on leadership skills with good books, classes, workshops, seminars, and networking with other leaders.

Better leadership skills will lead to better implementing new strategies into your business.

So here it’s 2017, The Year of Execution!
