The Phoenix LegacyChapter 2: Unwelcome Visitors

It seemed like only yesterday Sam had just met Jill, but here they were, only a few moments away from being Mr and Mrs Phoenix.

A few months ago, Sam had asked Jill if she wanted to move into his... Is it big enough to classify as a house? Anyway, of course, she said yes.

But not long after that, Jill began to show signs of being pregnant.

Because of that, Sam proposed to her, and Jill said yes.

And today it was their wedding. Sam looked into Jill’s eyes with love, and couldn’t wait to start their new life together.“I do.”

As Jill’s bump grew bigger, Sam grew more and more excited, anticipating the birth of his first child.

They didn’t have much money, though, so Jill took up painting.

And Sam started writing a novel, which he hoped would sell well.

In the early hours of the morning, Jill began to give birth.“SAM!!” she screamed.

Sam wasn’t really sure what to do, so he stood there trying to calm himself.“Alright, it’s alright.”

Jill gave birth to a healthy little girl named Clara. She had Sam’s dark grey eyes, and pale skin, and brown hair belonging to neither of her parents.

Sam was thrilled with having a daughter at last.

“Jill,” he said. “I want another child.”“So do I...”

But it was hard to find the time, because having a child was a full-time job.

One day whilst Sam was at work, there was a knock at the door.“Who are-” Jill started to say to the strange men.

“We have come for Sam Phoenix. You give him to us, or we take him.”

Jill’s breathing was fast.“He’s not here,” she whispered.

“We will be back,” was the reply.And then they were gone.

“Oh, Clara, what am I going to do?”

As Jill left for work and Sam came home, Jill said,“I have something to tell you when I get back.”

Whilst she was away, it was time for Clara to grow up.

She was quite a pretty child, looking mostly like her mother.

Jill paused before entering the house.What would she tell Sam?

“What was it you wanted to tell me, sweetie?” said Sam that night.“Uh...”

“Just that I think we should try having another baby...”

Sam began to teach Clara how to walk and talk.

And Jill quit her job because of the hours.All seemed normal.

“Hello?”“You have three days to bring me Sam Phoenix.”
