Specifically, NCI provides support to Project Manager Soldier Warrior and Project Manager Soldier Equipment in developing, fielding, and sustaining the Land Warrior and validating the Ground Soldier System. We help integrate everything the Ground, Air, or Mounted Soldier wears or carries on the battlefield. We continue the full spectrum of support with subject-matter expert support to develop and coordinate the concept of operations (CONOPS) and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for Sniper-Defeat actions. Our New Equipment Training and Fielding teams currently field and train new equipment developed by Product Manager Clothing and Individual Equipment, Product Manager Sensors and Lasers, and Product Manager Soldier Survivability to our Soldiers as they prepare for deployment or re-deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and overseas duty stations. We also field the Army’s new Army Combat Uniform, Improved Outer Tactical Vest with protective plates, as well as conduct X-ray quality assurance of ESAPI ballistic inserts. We ensure accurate inventory issue and return with our Soldier Portable Equipment Issuing and Recovery System (SPEIRS) asset management tool. With our certified trainers and Jump Master personnel, we refine TTPs for the use of all new Army parachutes and train the trainers for parachute packing and rigging. Army Acquisition, Operations, and Sustainment Support NCI supports Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier and its subordinate Project and Product Managers via our current PEO Soldier/PM Soldier Warrior/PM Soldier Equipment Contract established in 2007. The initial contract for supporting Soldiers began in 1993 when the PEO was known as PM Soldier. NCI PEO Soldier Support Our support to PEO Soldier and our Warfighters has migrated over time from when individual components were designed with no modularity or integration to meet individual requirements to the Soldier today being treated as a single platform with focus on Soldier as a System. To meet the difficult challenges the PEO and PMs face as the single acquisition office championing the Warfighter needs of the Soldier, NCI provides PEO Soldier with high-quality key support services. Recent AccomplishmentsPEO Soldier-wide Web support where we create and •maintain the PEO’s face to DoD, industry, and the Warfighter.Design, operation, and maintenance of SPIERS •equipment distribution, receipt, and inventory management system for fielding all new Soldier individual equipment.
