Robert Geneid was born on December 21st, 1954, in Sydney Australia. One of the few to

possess a dual degree in Civil Engineering and Law within Australia, Robert put his

University of New South Wales degrees to good use. Utilizing the insights given by his dual

degrees, Robert has specialized and grown to be an expert in Construction Law and Major

Project Work.

Robert’s career has spanned many areas within different countries. He began as an Engineer

for the Department of Public Works New South Wales. Here he focused his efforts on the

water supply and sewerage works in rural New South Wales. He then tackled a project

relating to the Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia, as a Project Engineer for the Bechtel

Corporation Jubail Industrial City Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Here he also worked on water

supply, sewerage, and sea water cooling.

Expanding his professional experience towards his other degree, in Law, Robert

Geneid worked as a Solicitor for Freehill, Hollingdale and Page, in both Sydney and

Singapore. Within the Firm’s Major Project Section, he was a Construction Lawyer,

and was involved in a major public infrastructure project in New South Wales, the

Sydney Harbour Tunnel Project. Robert represented the client on infrastructure and

building issues and growth, as well as for the Northern Territory Government on the

Channel Island Power Station Project.

Climbing the ladder within the field of Law, Robert’s next firm, Mallesons Stephen

Jaques, made him Partner. Working in Singapore, he was the partner in charge of

construction law and major project work for Southeast Asia. This consisted of

developing Indonesia’s largest coal mine, their commercial television station, and

resort development. Additional responsibilities within Robert’s role included being the

chosen partner to oversee the Peninsula Gas Utilization Project in Malaysia.
