Tight budget home decoration

It was a pity not to do something with this 37m2 terrace . After the redecoration it felt really cozy to seat outside I started redecorating the apartment in January 2014 and ended in July 2015.

Apartment in Valencia where I used to live. Last details, June 2015.

I bought this second hand wooden table from the and turned into a nice terrace table.

There are 2 main details:1.- The perimetral light (with led strip light). In natural the effect is better than in the picture.2.- The orchid in the shower. The idea in this tiny bathroom was to have kind of a window with view to nature.

I found this furniture in the garbage. It looked like the pallet before being treated.Spring 2015

The idea with this pallet was to hang some pots with beautiful colour flowers and hang it on the wall in the terrace. Spring 2015

I bought 50 old fruit boxes and turned them into side bed tables, shelf for the terrace, wardrobe or shelf for books. Winter-spring 2015

Here I first turned painted the doors and the old fashioned mirror in the corner.

In order to get rid of this old fashioned salmon mirror I painted it.

What looks like wall is the painted mirror.

I found the entrance door too boring, so I turned it into a happy entrance door . May 2015

Unfortunately I don't have any picture of the corridor before I worked on it. But the one on the left is the one in the apartment just below mine and it looked almost the same… only the floor and the ceiling are different. All doors were brown and I turned them into white. In every door I hanged a Gil Elvgren pin-up as I had a pin-up calendar. I painted the walls in marine blue and the pillars in white. Then hang details I liked. For example there is a world map with little glue crystals (there are 4 colors and every color has a meaning). Is something you don’t notice if you don’t pay attention but everybody loved it when she/he discovered it. Summer 2014

I love this detail. It was the best solution I found to let people know if the bathroom was ocupied or not. It is cheap, funny and really original. And you can see it from distance.

Chocolate Brown for winter

Turquoise for sprong and summer.

No much pictures from before…, but also a big change happened. There was only a built-in wardrobe without doors, an old sofa-bed and a coat rack. The only thing I didn't change was the color of the ceiling.March 2015

Here was a built-in wardrobe without doors ocuppying too muh space in the bedroom. With the IKEA wardrobe, 2 old fruit cases and a wooden chest the space was bigger and perfect for he need of the room.

Here, just by painting the walls, changing the lamp and the wardrobe, putting a side bed table with a lamp, and using a colored bed cover the bedroom looks completely different.

I turned the label of this blouse into a bookmark
