What do users of the future want?Citizens’ Rail invited students from 4 countries to do just that in a special Master Class

Some insights:•Imaginative design•Safe environment – but not just CCTV•Activity (plenty of)•Connectivity with other modes•Links to local area – highlight local features

Idea 1:Le Pallet, Pays de la LoireTurn an old goods shed into a creche for commuters!

IDEA 2 – ‘THE CABOSSE’ A LOW COST BUILDING FOR BASIC STATIONS

COULD THIS HELP CREATE NEW ENTERPRISES IN RURAL AREAS?

Low cost - £20k (ish) – Prototype at Llandeilo Station;

Possible uses shop, gallery, ticket office, bike hire, hot desk/Wi-Fi, TIC, travel concierge

WAKEFIELD KIRKGATE• Dubbed by Hall and Green as one of the worst stations in the UK

• But it is a grade II listed structure

• £5.6m refurbishment providing: Retail space Café Offices Meeting Rooms Incubator units for new business start ups.
