Introduction:
Hello, my name is Anne-marije Scheffe. I studied Architecture at the TU Delft and I graduated in june 2011. My master was in Architectural Engineering. This direction combines architecture and building technology. During my Master I did an Erasmus semester at the Helsinki University of Technology TKK in Finland. After my graduation I worked as an intern at Queeste architecten in The Hague for three months which was extended for three months during which i worked as an assistant designer. I have worked in Amsterdam at RAU, a sustainable architecture firm, for three months. The past six months I have worked and lived in Shenzhen (Chi-na), in D-office. A Hong Kong/Shenzhen based architecture firm lead by a dutch architect.
In my portfolio I included some of my favorite projects. The projects are a range of different projects, from urban planning to furniture design.

RENOVATED HARBOUR BUILDINGSUSTAINABLE RENOVATION
Theme: Renovation and sustainability
New use for an old harbor building in Scheveningen. The old harbor building was used to distribute fish. The main focus of this assignment was sustain-ability. The old structure of the building was kept while new houses are built inside. The houses are passive houses. The complete harbor area is rede-signed into a sustainable housing area with water-collection and -cleaning.

EXPOSITION PAVILION
Theme: Building technology
This design was an exposition pavilion. The pavil-ion needed to have one large open space for large art objects. The way the window seperations are divided is completely random. This creates different views depending on the viewers location.

TREEVILLAGEECOVILLAGE IN A NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
Theme: Community Development
Treevillage is a community in Haarlem Spaarnwoude. The community is lifted of the ground to leave space for Flora and Fauna. The community has space for around 50 houses. This number is based on the amount of social inter-actions that is ideal for people. There are three spaces within the community. They each have their own theme. The themese are: Entrance (Welcome), Children and Water. The Water space is focused on the cleaning of water. A small harbour and busboat give a connection to Haarlem and Amsterdam. The community can also be reached by car.

House between the greenLIVING BETWEEN THE TREETOPS
Theme: Housing The concept for this design was “hiding between the trees”. By lifting the house up the dwellers have a full experience of the surrounding nature. The exist-ing nature can still be fully experienced by people who are recreating in the nature without experi-encing the various communities because they are hidden between the trees. The nature can continue even though there is a community. Usually houses form a barrier for nature. It is more difficult for ani-mals to travel through it and therefore there is less spreading of various plants. By keeping the ground level open there is no barrier.
Nature is saved by lifting the houses up so that the nature can continue underneath

The walking wall was designed for the houses in treevillage. The houses have a need for flexibility. These `walls` give various options to divide a room. They also change views into or out of a room. The panels are available in various colours and materi-als, they can be put on the`wall`and give it various interiors designs. Offcourse it is also a closet and can be used to store items.

SECUNDARY SCHOOLCHINESE SCHOOL
Theme: Competition
China has strict rules concerning secondary schools. The concept of this design is that all the classrooms are divided over the first, second, third and fourth floor. The cubes in the courtyard con-tain the teacher’s functions. Chinese schoolchildren have ten minute breaks between classes. In these ten minutes they will have easy access to one of the play area’s on top of the cubes. Each play-ground has different functions.

WELFARE CENTREORPHANAGE/ELDERLY CENTRE
Theme: Competition
This welfare centre houses a orphanage and an elderly centre. These two groups of inhabitants needed to be separated. A medical centre sepa-rates the two courtyards. The outside facade is made of brick which gives the appearance of a home while the inside (courtyard) is wood to create a warm, natural feeling.
