Experience2.Source(s) of dissatisfaction unclear - Further
Research Needed.3.Scott works there.
General Interviews (Methods)General Questions about Gym Experience:
“How often do you go to the gym?”
“Do you like how communal the gym is?”
“Do you have a certain time preference? If so, why?”
“Do you feel the need to get motivated to go to the gym?”
“Do you feel comfortable in crowded gyms ?”
General Interviews (Findings)- People enjoy bringing friends- People have different schedules- Motivation is a big factor- Equipment availability is an issue - It’s hard to actually get to the gym
Contextual Interview I (Methods)-Focus on equipment availability and crowding-Observe participant while they work out at the gym-Ask general questions for additional clarification
Contextual Interview I (Findings)- Highest level of traffic was during 5-7 pm- Equipment availability was a huge issue as it
increased time spent in the gym- Friends would often work out together and
rotate between machines in order to expedite their process
Contextual Interview II (Methods)- Taking notes while observing at the gym - Taking pictures at the gym and of gym goers- Asking additional questions with regards to
the participant’s experience at the gym and with the equipment
Contextual Interview II (Findings)- The most crowded section was the free
weight/squat section in the back of the gym- Those who did use phones, used in gaps
between workouts.

Future Plans IIPROTOTYPE
This is a highly technical product. We will likely need a large amount of outside help to make a functional unit.
Future Plans IIIGym and Developer Community Involvement
Community involvement is key to our product reaching maximum utility.
So many different functionalities are possible and we rely on hobbyists’ creativity.
