Background The daughter of Italian schoolteachers, Louise visited her

parents’ homeland at sixteen, and quickly became addicted to Italy and visited virtually every year, then finally became a resident in 1978

Graduated from Skidmore College Designed special project books at Alfred A. Knopf from

1975-76 Was an art director for Pantheon Books where she

designed over 2000 book jackets from 1978-1989 Designed identities for fine eateries across New York City,

including Picholine, The Harrison, Noche, Artisanal and Metrazur

Was an instructor at the School of Visual Arts and has taught at the New School, New York University and Cooper Union for over 20 years.

Has received Gold and Silver Medals from The Society of Illustrators and New York Art Directors Club, the Premio Grafico from the Bologna Book fair, and three James Beard award nominations
