Most website domains provide templates and layouts to provide efficient, clean website designs. All you have to do is add your content and images, and keep it up to date!

HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN WEBSITE Research different website domains and find one that best suits you and your business. Most of them will have free trials where you can test and see how the company works. You will almost always have to pay if you want a full website URL.

Squarespace is my preferred website domain. They offer quick and easy set up for websites. Their templates are clean, quick, and trendy, and the mobile preface is smooth. They also provide apps above and beyond the website app that makes it easier to post and update on the go.

HOW TO BUILD YOUR WEBSITE (CONT…) Website domains have different templates for different business types. Find the one that best suites you. For my website, I found a template that is easily accessible to my clients, where they can view my photography and graphic design in a gallery format.

BUILDING YOUR WEBSITE (CONT…) Once you’ve chosen your template, it’s time to add content! Make sure to provide all products, offers, pricing, events, etc., and stay up to date with it! Connect your website with all your social media accounts to spread the word!

WHAT POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS LOOK FOR When building your website, keep in mind what your target audience is. If your content takes too long to load on mobile devices, the customer isn’t going to stay to look through all the pages and offers. Provide a clean, quick website that they can scroll through in less than 5 minutes. They also look at the quality of your content, so make sure you present yourself in a professional manner and as someone who is easy and fun to work with, but is also quick and professional in their job. Building a website for your business is a BIG step, and will only work if you start it in the right way. If you keep updating your content, it will give a reason for customers to continue coming back to your website.
