Atlas & Emerald Quick Start Guide What’s in the Box: The Atlas (left) and the Emerald (right) are each Bluetooth data loggers that look different but function almost identically. Follow the instructions below noting steps where any differences are called out.

Getting Started with your logger
Installing and navigating the OCEAView app
1. Download the OCEAView app from the app store on your mobile device. a. In the app store search “OCEAView” and install the app by Oceasoft. b. Visit the product pages on DicksonData.com and visit the Additional Links section for direct links to the

2. You may need to grant permissions for the app to use your camera, location, etc.. in order to utilize all functionality. Confirm Bluetooth is turned ON to allow phone to detect data logger
3. On the main screen of the app you’ll see the: a. Menu icon to explore app screens/settings b. Scan icon to refresh the list of devices c. Listed devices (if the system can see devices) and they’re separated
by status: i. Mission not defined - a new logger with no mission
configured ii. Limit Alarms - a logger with an alarm that has passed a
high/low limit iii. Technical Alarms - a logger with an alarm for a low battery or
sensor failure iv. Started (No alarms) - a logger with an active mission but no
alarms v. Mission not started - a logger that has been configured with a
mission but hasn’t started logging

4. Pressing the menu icon will expose the menu options including: ● Watch Mode - a dashboard of selected loggers ● Scan - trigger a refresh of devices to configure or view ● History - data from up to 5 saved missions ● Settings - app settings like selecting F or C ● Demo - a few demo devices you can explore ● About - App information including a full user manual
Connect a Device to the App 1. If you haven’t already done so, open the OCEAView app 2. Start communication on the devices:
On the Atlas logger, press the start button in the center
On the Emerald logger: 1. Insert the battery 2. Attach the magnetic mount and ring 3. Screw the case using a phillips head screwdriver
NOTE: Tighten the screws to ensure ring doesn't spin and battery stays securely in place
4. Replace the magnet 5. A blue LED will begin to blink on the front of the device to indicate that it is working
3. Press the green “Scan” icon in the lower right of the main screen or from the main menu
a. The screen should refresh with your device listed on the screen b. Tap a device to view/configure it
NOTE: Devices must be within range of a phones bluetooth to be detected IMPORTANT: for Atlas users, you will need to press the button again on the device to enable viewing/configuring in the app

Configure the device for data logging
About “Missions” A mission refers to a data logging session of any duration. The mission consists of a set of configuration options that are used to manage your logger and we’ll walk through those in the following steps.
Configure a Mission General
1. Name the device a. Defaults to logger serial number b. Can be customized to up to 18 characters
2. Choose Reading Interval a. Defaults to 10 minute reading interval b. Minimum reading interval 15 seconds
Start Mode There are 6 options for when to begin a mission
● Immediately - Will begin logging once user clicks Done ● User start -
On the Atlas logger, Press & hold button on device for 3 seconds to begin logging (LED will flash green 6x)
On the Emerald logger, Once the device is connected with its mounting magnet it will begin logging
● Temperature below - Logging will not begin until the device is below a specified temperature ● Temperature above - Logging will not begin until device is above a specified temperature ● Delayed for - User can delay logging for a specified number of minutes ● Delayed until - User can delay logging until specified date & time

Alarms A user can set the low and high limit for when an alarm is triggered A user can choose a delay for the low or high limit that delays the triggering of the alarm by a specified number of minutes
1. Optional feature 2. Feature is beneficial to avoid false alarms
Security
User can set a password that must be entered to stop a mission
Flight Mode
1. When enabled the device will stop transmitting data during a flight. Datalogging will continue
2. A user can choose when the device will wake up after the flight
Start Logging 1. Tap DONE to save the mission 2. “Mission defined. Setting Transferred to Module” will display 3. Tap OK 4. Logger will now show on the Modules screen under Started or one of the Alarm fields 5. Mission will start when the applicable “Start Mode” has been activated

Viewing/Downloading You can view data right from your mobile device as long as the data logger is within range of your phone.
1. Open the Oceasoft Mobile app and tap Scan 2. Logger will display and data will be uploaded to the phone app 3. Tap the logger name to open the logger menu 4. Tap Show Current Mission and you’ll have four views you can swipe between:
Recap Graph Data Map
Displays a summary of the logger settings
Displays a graph of downloaded data
Displays data in a tabular format
Displays location(s) where logger was started,
downloaded, or stopped
To Save or Send Data
1. Press the Option icon in the upper right corner (three parallel bars on Apple devices or 3 vertical dots on Android devices)
2. Choose an option: a. Send by Email - Choose your email app to
send the Recap, Graph, and Data b. Save on Device - Store up to 5 data sets on
your local phone
