Imam Ali (as) was born inside the Ka’ba in Makka on the 13th of Rajab.

His father was Hazrat Abu Talib and his mother was Sayyida Fatima binte Asad.

Imam Ali (as) was very close to Prophet Muhammad (S). He was the first person to accept the message of Islam.

Imam Ali (as) slept in the bed of Holy Prophet (S) so that the Prophet could escape from the bad people trying to kill him. Imam Ali (as) helped to save his life!

On the 19th of Ramadhan, Imam Ali (as) was struck on his head whilst in sajdah by a man called Ibn Muljim. Sadly Imam Ali (as) died 2 days later. He is buried in Najaf, Iraq.
