Danilkin S.A., Jadrowskij E.L. PI4-97-64Phonon Dispersion Curves in Nb Measuredwith DIN-2PI Time-of-Flight Spectrometer at IBR-2 Reactor
The phonon dispersion curves in niobium were measured with direct geometry neutron spectrometer DIN-2PI. The data derived are in agreement with known dispersion curves obtained using the triple-axis spectrometer. The experimental capabilities of the time-of-flight neutron spectrometer are analyzed for the measurements of the phonons in desired symmetry direction. The experimental results and calculations show the good possibilities for the detail phonon dispersion measurements with multidetector DIN-2PI spectrometer. Simultaneously with phonons with wave vectors in desired direction a large number of phonons in non-symmetry directions were derived.
