Pope's Message

Dear brothers and sisters, good morning!

Pope focuses on 'The beauty of Marriage' in prayer intention for June

Francis invites Catholics to pray for young people preparing for marriage with the support of a Christian community

Pope Francis in his prayer intention for the month of June invites everyone to pray for those preparing for marriage, which is a vocation born from the heart. It has become the custom of Pope Francis to release a video message detailing his prayer intention for each month. Is it true, what some people say—that young people don't want to get married, especially during these difficult times? is how Pope Francis opens the video accompanying his prayer intention for the month of June.

Francis said that marriage is indeed a demanding journey which can be complicated at times but he adds that getting married and sharing one's life is something beautiful and on this life-long journey the couple aren't alone as Jesus accompanies them.

Pope Francis also reflects on the importance of the Sacrament of Marriage, and its centrality in the life of the Church. Marriage isn't just a 'social' act, he said. It's a vocation that's born from the heart, a conscious decision for the rest of one's life that requires specific preparation. The

pope invites Catholics to pray for young people preparing for marriage with the support of a Christian community.May they grow in love, with generosity, faithfulness and patience, he prays. Because a great deal of patience is necessary in order to love.He closes his video also with a question… : But it's worth it, eh? The Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network of the Apostleship of Prayer developed The Pope Video initiative to assist in the worldwide dissemination of monthly intentions of the pope in relation to the challenges facing humanity.Today, the network connects millions of Catholics around the world from diverse countries, cultures, and social and ecclesial contexts, through prayer.A press release from the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network points out that the Church is currently marking the Special Year of the Family , which started 19 March 2021.On the feast of the Holy Family in 2022, Pope Francis convoked a special year dedicated to the family with the following motto: Family love: a vocation and a path to holiness.

regular catechism classes for our children and the rest of the children, you have to have moral classes. Our children should not lose interest in the catechism classes. It is the basis for their faith.

In this month, we celebrate the feast of St.Antony of Padua and a few of our churches bear the name of St.Antony. I wish them all very Happy Feast of St.Antony. We have pilgrim churches where a numerous people of all faiths participate in the celebrations. It is an opportune time for the work of evangelisation. May God, through the intercession of St.Antony, bless all of us.

“Rejoice in the Lord always, once again I say rejoice” Philippians: 4: 4

These were the words that the Lord Almighty had provided me with, as my motto of Priesthood. His Almighty, who never fails in his words, has kept up His promise guiding me in the path of rejoice, all through these four years as the Secretary to the Bishop of Coimbatore. I am indeed overjoyed to thank Him from the bottom of my heart.

I am indeed happy and feel even more privileged to thank His Excellency my Lord the Bishop, for giving me such an opportunity to be with him. His Excellency with all his experience has guided me in a way, pleasing to God and to the Diocese.

I have to sincerely remember and thank V. Rev. Msgr. John Joseph Stanis our Vicar General who was with me, patting my shoulder every time to understand the realities of life and has shown me a right path to travel with.

I am obliged to remember with thanks, Rev. Fr. Francis Joseph our Procurator for taking care of me all these days with all the financial helps, especially when I was sick and down with COVID-19.

I remember all my Priestly Collegium in the Bishop's House. I was cheerful all these days with the entire friendly ambience that they have created in the House.

I take this opportunity to specially thank Rev. Fr. D. Arokiasamy for helping me to properly present the Newsletter and Rev. Fr. Antony Selvaraj who has prepared all the cover pages of the Newsletter these years.

Let me take this opportunity to thank all my brother Priests that you understood me all these days and accepted me even among my shortcomings. Without your support I would not have successfully completed these four years.

FEW WORDS OF GRATITUDE

24

My work would not have been successful without the support of Rev. Sisters who serve in our Bishop's House, Regency Brothers (Br. Naveen Rozario, Br. Ajitto Xavier), John Anna our Bishop's Driver and all the Car Drivers working in our Bishop's House, all the other support staff serving under various capacities in the Bishop's House. At this juncture I also thankfully remember Mr. Suresh, St. Mary Printers whose prompt service has helped all of us to read the good tidings of our Diocese.

As I leave, I welcome Rev. Fr. Arul Irudayaraj to the office. Let the good Lord bless him as he takes up this new office. Please render him the same help that you all rendered me that he may also have a happy and successful ministry.

Thank you all once again,
