Firstly we would like to thank you for your continuedsupport, in what still are difficult times in the worldeconomy. Despite this we have had another successfulyear, with new products, software developments andbreaking into new markets.On the down side you maybe aware, earlier this year acounterfeit version of our MVPPro appeared on the market,which is not the first time we have faced this situation. As previously we are protecting any future copying ofsoftware via technical innovations. Additionally we havestarted to take legal action and can confirm that AdvancedDiagnostics has recently earned a substantial victory in itsfight to clamp down on sales of copied versions of its MVPPro Key Programming System; after successfully conductinglitigation in Lithuania with leading firm, PAVLOV &MAMONTOVAS (now Fort). MVPPro - Cloned Continued from Front page...Advanced Diagnostics issued proceedings against adistributor, which was offering for sale a copied version of theMVP Pro and using copied marketing material. The VilniusCircuit Court has ordered the immediate seizure andprohibition of entry into the market of copies of MVP PROequipment, its constituent parts, software and copies ofmarketing materials (renamed EFFIMO and EFFIMO PROby the defendant).

We are also encouraged by recent news in China that the lawis reportedly currently coming down hard on illegal car keymanufacturers/distributors carrying VM logos with manycompanies are taking their websites offline. This is somethingwe will look to take legal advantage of over the comingmonths.

In the meantime, as our distributors, we will need you toconstantly remind your customers that it is simply not aboutbuying the cheapest tool. They need to consider the wholepackage

• It will not have any development, so a customers investmentwill be short lived.• We will prevent them from obtaining further new software

• The customer won't receive technical support, training,information etc...

• The customer won't be able to use the services such aspin codes

• The customer won't have a repair or warranty service.• The customer won't have an upgrade path as the productdevelops in the future.

There should be no doubt for potential customers that anoriginal tool is the best option. It is the choice between apermanently evolving reliable product and inferior cheapcopies.

If customers choose the copy tester - they will have to work,with rogue distributors, with no experience or commitment tothe customer. The prestige and committment of ourcompanies, both manufacturers and distributors must be madeclear to end customers.

Moreover, these illegal copies are just a quick way to getmoney from the market, they don't care about developmentand hence they don't care about the customer and theycertainly do not provide the main elements which have drivenour success over the past 15 years.

So please be encouraged by the legal successes we arehaving and legal action that we will continue to take.

Message From the MDFirstly we would like to thank youfor your continued support duringthe past 12 months, in what stillare difficult times in the worldeconomy. Despite this we have hadanother successful year, with newproducts, software developmentsand breaking into new markets.

Advanced Diagnostics made its first sale in 2001, and hasbeen focused on the key programming business for the past12 years, which has changed massively over this period, interms of technology and competition. The demand for keyprogramming will remain strong as the number of lightvehicles (passenger cars and light trucks) on the road isforecast to increase by 30% from 2012 to 2020 (*), increasingthe number of vehicles from 1.02billion to 1.32billion, whichin turn will drive increased demand for key programmingservices.

Undoubtably we have more competitors now, which forgenuine competitors is good for customer choice, and will

keep AD on its toes. However, illegal copy manufacturers arebad for the industry….yes they offer cheap tools, but at whatcost to the industry?…..they don’t have development costs,they don’t employ highly skilled engineers, they don’t offertechnical support, warranty, repairs, support services, the listgoes on. Ultimately if these copy manufacturers put the gen-uine manufacturers out of business, where does that leave thecustomers…..no new developments/software and hence a de-clining industry. Therefore my message is simple, please sup-port the genuine manufacturers, obviously, I hope that choiceis AD!!!

In addition to the key programming market our relativelyrecent move into the marine diagnostic market anddistribution partnership with SeaStar Solutions is also asuccess story, as we start to establish a strong presence.
