Vocational Learning Ministerial Council for Employment,
Education, Training and Youth Affairs, (MCEETYA) defines vocational learning as general learning that has a vocational perspective.
It includes elements such as general employability skills, enterprise education, career education and community and work based learning.

These research findings suggest we are missing a valuable opportunity to influence and enhance the career development of our students if we do not begin career education early.

Employability Skills
Employability skills are those “skills required not only to gain employment, but also to progress within an enterprise so as to achieve one’s potential and contribute successfully to enterprise strategic directions” (ACCI and BCA, 2001).
Employability skills are generic skills and attributes that can be transferred from one situation to another.
