Good News

• Education Aspirations: Nearly all Indiana students plan to go to college

• College-going Rates: 2/3 of Indiana high school graduates go directly to college

• College Enrollment: Indiana college enrollment at all-time high (500,000 students in public colleges alone)

Challenges

• Education Attainment: 1/3 of Hoosiers have completed education beyond high school (rank 40th nationally)

• College Completion: Less 1/3 of four-year college students graduate on time (4% of two-year college students)

• College Readiness: Nearly 1/3 of recent Indiana high school grads require remediation in college

Meeting the Challenge1) Education Attainment:

– Increase adult attainment to 45 percent by 2018.– Increase adult attainment to 60 percent by 2025.

2) Degree Production: – Double the number of degrees/certificates produced by 2025.– Would increase annual production from 60,000 to 120,000 degrees.

3) College Completion: – 50 percent on-time graduation at four-year campuses by 2018.– 25 percent on-time graduation at two-year campuses by 2018.

CSC is a network of community organizations

actively working to increase college access and success.


Topic A Coalition Goals


GOALS:

1.Increase the % of students who enter college in the fall following their HS graduation

2.Increase the % of students who earn a college certificate or diploma within four years of their HS graduation.

3.Increase the % of citizens who have a college certificate or diploma.


DEFINITIONS:
