RESIDENTIALVOLUME II
The Leader in Opening Glass Walls
B r i n g i n g t h e O u t d o o r s i n1
Inspiration and passion for sophisticated residential design are reflected in homes created by architects who choose the NanaWall, large opening glass wall sytem.
The NanaWall is a unique solution that provides constant options for open air living or weathertight comfort in today’s elegant homes. The secure shelter of the closed NanaWall transforms to breathtaking, unobstructed wide open space in moments. Indoor-outdoor boundries vanish, living space expands, and broad vistas or quiet gardens become an integrated part of the home.
NanaWall embraces the values of today’s cutting edge architecture. The NanaWall is engineered for energy efficiency from environmentally friendly materials. A NanaWall incorporates sustainable design features such as natural lighting and ventilation into every project in which it is featured. In addition, concealed hardware, maximised glass area, and a single floor track create clean, unobstructed architectural lines
Over 20 years of experience plus stringent independent testing insures that the NanaWall meets the most challenging architectural specifications. Custom made systems are available with wood, aluminum, or clad frames in hundreds of colors and finishes. Custom sizes, configurations, hardware, and glazing provide the designer with inspiration to create one-of-a-kind openings that enhance any project.
We invite you into the world of NanaWall. In these pages you will view architectural projects designed by innovative architects who have used the NanaWall to blur the lines between the landscape and the living space. Open up to the possibilities!

“A home does not stand separate from it’s surrounding. The concept
of a Not So Big House requires the careful design of the transitions
between interior and exterior. Moveable glass wall systems effortlessly
create larger or smaller “rooms” as needed, and allow the most
efficient use of available space. You get two completely different
spatial experiences, depending upon whether the wall system is
open, or closed, and to experience the difference between the two
is nothing short of amazing.

the integration of interior and exterior,
maximizing the temperate San Diego climate
and providing a seamless transition from bar/

was the obvious choice – not only do the fully-

a truly indoor/outdoor bar experience. The

Sleeping Porch Bedroom
“When commissioned to design the typically pragmatic
master bedroom addition, we decided to use what little
programmatic area we were given to its fullest poetic
advantage, a “more with less” approach. By lifting
the addition on pilotis, the new bedroom is aligned
with the former bedroom, creating a master suite.
The terrace created beneath this addition provides
shaded rest for the users of the pool and bocce ball
court nearby. Folding open the large window wall
(NanaWall) allows the custom bed to track out onto
the elevated terrace—bringing the indoors out—
permitting comfortable nights spent under the moon
and stars.”

The southeast breezes are pulled from the

the living, dining and kitchen area of this home.
The NanaWall System allowed us to open the
room into this new three-story screened porch

the year, and the air conditioning system is
seldom on. The screened room between the two

We liked the concept so much we decided to use 5 separate NanaWalls in our last Seattle Street of Dreams Home. “The decision to use NanaWall was made by the developer very early in the process and was one we strongly supported. The NanaWall was a logical choice for the Cannery Lofts. The NanaWall allows the living spaces to embrace the California condition, i.e., seamlessly connecting the indoor living rooms with outdoor living rooms. Along with the aesthetic merits of the product the technical staff was very helpful in developing a system that was appropriate to the marine environment. “Architecture ventures to fulfill a client’s requirements —functionality, aesthetics, and something more elusive…connectedness. This is accomplished by the creation of dynamic spaces which allow the senses to roam, and heighten the human experience, encouraging creativity, imagination, and well-being. The NanaWall allows this flexibility; evidenced by the visceral response from all who witness the wall opening and the magical transformation of space. In the case of this project, I was my own client, so I hear the ooos and aahs
every time someone comes over.”
