Here Comes the Sun

W e have been working hard to stabilize and strengthen the

shul’s financial position. One of our largest expenses is electricity, which costs us in excess of NIS 100,000 each year. It has been a dream to install a solar ar-ray to defray these costs. Thanks to a very generous loan from a member of our BTYA community, that dream is now becoming a reality.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be installing a 32 kilowatt solar array atop our building. We anticipate the installation will reduce our electrical expenses by about 30% every year, for decades to come (IY”H)!

The weekly Kiddush is one the factors of the Youth Minyan's smashing success—that is why we try really hard to have a full Kiddush with a hot Cholent every week. But we need more sponsors, and it is getting harder and harder.

We would like to suggest that every family that has a child, or children attending the Minyan commit to sponsor at least one Kiddush for each child they have in the Minyan. As a further incentive, aside from keeping the MInyan vibrant, we offer the following..... The son of the sponsoring family can choose which

kibud he wants that Shabbos (Ba'al Tefilah, Aliyah, Dvar Torah, Haftorah and the like).

The father from the sponsoring family may attend the youth Minyan that Shabbos (normally adults are not allowed), and shep some nachas seeing his son in action.

Share in the zechus of helping to ensure that 40-60 Bachurim have a place to daven Shabbos morning that is meaningful, inspiring and a place where they want to be (A number of parents have told us that they used to have to beg their sons to go to Shul and now their sons are makpid to get up—and go on their own!)
