DIPK-9025 Sd/- Secretary Services Selection Board Jammu S-002 Berlin attack affirms my proposal to ban Muslims: Trump Washington, Dec 22: US President-elect Donald Trump has said that the deadly truck attack on a Christmas market in Berlin proved that he was correct to propose barring Muslims from entering the US. "All along, I've been proven to be right. One-hun- dred-percent correct. What's happening is disgraceful," Trump told reporters on Wednesday outside his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. According to a report in the Washing- ton Post, Trump did not walk back the proposals after he was asked by the media whether he was rethinking or re-evaluating them in the wake of a fresh terrorist attack in Berlin. "You know my plans," Trump said. He went on to add that the attack on a Berlin Christmas market, which was claimed by the Islamic State, had vindicated him. German authorities were seek- ing a 24-year-old Tunisian migrant, who they say has ties to Islamist extremists, in connection with the attack, which killed 12 people. Earlier, Trump had in a statement called for a tem- porary ban on Muslims entering the US and has expressed openness to a reg- istry of Muslims already in the country. However, the proposal was sharply criticised by Republicans and Democrats alike. He was also asked about his characterisation of the Berlin attack as an attack on Christians. "The IS and other terrorists continually slaughter Chris- tians in their communities and places of worship as part of their global jihad," Trump had said in a statement issued after the attack on Monday. On Wednesday, Trump appeared unfamiliar with the statement issued in his name. "Who said that?" Trump countered, challenging the reporter. "It's an attack on humanity and it's got to be stopped." IANS Pak to attend trilateral meet with Russia, China Islamabad, Dec 22: Paki- stan today said its for- eign secretary will travel to Russia to participate in a trilateral meeting with Russia and China next week which will dis- cuss key regional issues including peace process in Afghanistan. "The For- eign Secretary will lead the Pakistani delegation in this meeting. The trilateral meeting will be held on December 27 and peace in Afghani- stan will be on the top of the agenda due to increas- ing threat of ISIS to Central Asia, which is considered as Russian backyard, There are also reports of contacts between Taliban and Rus- sian officials as the latter recognise the importance of Taliban in checking the threat of ISIS. Zakaria said peace and stability in Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan and the entire region. PTI 'I never attended school': Pakistan President Islamabad, Dec 22: Paki- stan President Mamnoon Hussain has said that he never attended a school and missed out on its joys as he was home schooled due to "various reasons". Hussain belongs to Paki- stan's financial hub Karachi where he settled after his family migrated from Agra during the partition. He rose from humble beginnings to become the president of the country. He is considered as con- fidante of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who approved his appointment to the top job due to his loyalty to Sharif and his Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz party. Soon after his appoint- ment as president, Hussain said in one of his interviews that he had also attended a religious seminary in Kara- chi. PTI Communalist forces given free hand: Jama’at-e-Islami Srinagar, Dec 22: Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu Kashmir today accused the government of what it termed as “following agenda of communalist forces to dilute the Muslim majority character and disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.” “The communalist forces holding the reigns in Delhi as well as Jammu and Kashmir are given free hand by ruling party following their agenda of diluting the Muslim majority character and disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir for which they are utilising both Supreme Court as well as the state machinery,” the Jama’at spokesman advocate Zahid Ali, in a statement today, said. The spokesman strongly denounced what he said, ‘these ill-designed moves’ and impressed upon “the legal luminaries and intellectuals of the valley to formulate an effective action plan to defeat this sinister plan and inform the world that India accepted the disputed nature of J and K in 1947 itself when Indian constitution was yet to be framed and promised to pro- vide the right of self determination to the people of J and K.” Saghar concerned over granting domicile to WP refugees Islamabad, Dec 22: The vice president of Democratic Free- dom Party Mehmood Ahmed Saghar while expressing seri- ous concern over government's move to grant domicile certificate to West Pakistan Refugees has said termed it as “part of greater conspiracy intended to convert Muslim majority state into a minority.” "The nefarious plan to sele outsiders in Kashmir is a direct threat to state's religious and cultural identity", Saghar said this in statement. “It is actually the BJP calling shots on the ground. Urging pro-freedom leadership to devise a joint mechanism he said that it was high time that all political forces as well as the civil society representatives should join hands to frustrate nefarious design of the government of India.
