themes to generate exciting and relevant programme ideas

• Involve young people in planning through the use of Sectional, District and County forums, conferences and committees

• Use the Self-Review process to support and enhance programme planning

Planning a balanced programme

Need to plan over a variety of time spans

• Long-term – Over a year

• Mid-term – over three months

• Short-term – over one month

• Individual meetings – per week

Create a Planned and Balanced Programme

In Groups plan a balanced programme for 14 weeks from September to December

Choose one week and plan a detailed evenings programme

The plan should include:• Relevant Programme Zones and/or theme• Activities• A variety of Groupings

Review • Looks back on what has been happening• Looks forward considering what support may be

needed• Should take at least once a year• Not just about problems but also about

celebrating success
