Andy was a brilliant time triallist regularly clocking 50 minute 25`s and 1.50 50`s. He was also a very friendly, modest and likeable guy who, when he passed you in an event (which happened to me regularly), always gave a shout of encouragement as he flew past. He retired from racing several years ago for various reasons ie recurring arthritis and knee problems, a demanding job, and raising a young family. I remember, some years ago, he rode from his home in Dover in the very early morning down to Brenzett, rode the KCA 50 winning it in 1.51, and then rode home afterwards. His Dad Fred, was also an active member of the club for many years. He leaves a wife Iliana, and children Paul (7) and Elisa (4). To them and Anne, Fred and Sue we offer our deepest sympathy on this tragic loss. The funeral will be on Wednesday 4 th November 1200hrs at Barham Crematorium. New Members This month we welcome the following new members:- Peter, Rachael, Thomas and Benjamin Hutton, Callum Williamson, Connor Bertram, Oluseyi Adekoya, Lucy Bartlett and John Sepple. We hope that their association with us will be a long and happy one. Congratulations Many congratulations to Teresa Childs on her appointment as a British Cycling Level 2 Track Coach, also to Maddie Bazin, David Redmond and Oliver Robinson who have passed the Level 1 British Cycling coaching course. This is great news for the Club. David has also secured a place at the National Talent Camp for up and coming youngsters in relation to coaching and officiating to take place at Loughborough University in December. Well done all.

KCA Reliability Ride Sunday 25 th October A total of 70 riders from the Club participated in this annual event. In the end we were just pipped at the post by the Fairies who scored 143 points to our 139. Ashford Roads were 3rd with 83 points. The event was not without incident as the 0820 group were involved in 2 crashes, the most serious of these happened at the top of Sutton Valence hill when Sue Shields lost control and hit a roadside bollard necessitating hospitalisation with a broken collar bone. We wish Sue all the best for a complete recovery.
