Everyone is invited as we experience the Word of God in our everyday lives and discover small group opportunities for the fall. Contact Pastor Patrick at 901-337-4178 or at [email protected] if you would like to participate!
HANDS OF HOPE MINISTRYWe are about to begin our new year! We are a group of ladies who knit
and/or crochet. We make prayer shawls, lap blankets, pillows for our high school graduates, baby blankets and other items. Our next meeting will take
place September 11 at 10am in the 2nd floor conference room at FUMC. After that we will meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Please mark
your calendars!!

Caregivers Support GroupWhere: Kim Smith’s HomeWhen: Wednesdays (2nd and 4th of each month) from 10 am—11 am beginning September 12thContact: Kim Smith at (252) 725-2107 or Pastor Sarah at (910) 389-8584. This is a support group for anyone who is taking care of a child., spouse or parent who is suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s or other neurological disease. We will get together twice a month for fellowship, devotion and prayer.
College StudentsThroughout the year, FUMC continues to remind all our
college students of their importance by our thoughts, prayers, and communications. We remember birthdays,
send newsletters, holiday cards, notes, and especially our prayers. This can only be achieved if we have a current
mailing address for them. Whether first year, community college, or Graduate level we want to stay in touch with
everyone! Please get addresses to church office as soon as you have one available.

Atrium.Infants – three year olds – Nursery is provided from 8:30 AM – 12 Noon.
The nurseryis located on the 1st floor in the Wallace Building.
Children are welcome to participate in all parts of our Traditional Worship Services. Our nursery is always open to children under 3. Children between the ages of 3 and 7 who would like to participate in some but not all of our Traditional
Services can participate in Children’s Church after the children’s moment. Worship is an important part of Christian Formation and if you need help keeping your child engaged in the service, please grab one of our worship bags from any
of the ushers.Hearing Devices are available!! Ask an usher as you come in!!
The Sojourners will begin an Adam Hamilton study on Moses beginning Thursday, September 27 at 10:00 am for 6 weeks. We welcome all to join us and you may sign up by calling the church office or by emailing Kitty Simmons at [email protected]. Let us know as soon as possible so we may order your book for the class!
BAPTISM CELEBRATIONWe celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Baptism today at the 11:00 service for William Frederick Bernotski, son of Julianne Heal Bernotski and Joel David Bernotski. The happy grandparents are Charles & Elizabeth Heal and

SUNDAY EVENING PROGRAMMING KICK OFF NIGHT!
SUNDAY, SEPT. 9TH5-6:30 PM
We have small groups for kids and youth in Kindergarten through 12th grades (kids who have turned 5 but may not be attending Kindergarten are also welcome to attend). Dinner is always part of our program! We must have your parental consent forms on file for your family to be able to participate! Kids under 5th grade must be signed in and out by an adult. New this year: Youth in 6th-12th grades are invited to stay and fellowship for an extra 30 minutes of supervised free time in the Loft from 6:30-7 PM. Youth Choir with Mrs. Pat Davis will begin Wednesday, September 12th at 6:25 pm! All middle and high school students are invited to attend! Attention Parents! A short term bible study will be available for you beginning October 10th at this same time! Contact Sarah Williams for more info! Also, be on the lookout for info on Preschool and Elementary Choirs!

Ladies Bible EngagmentWednesdays beginning Sept 19 at 1:00 pm – Large Conference Room
The Ladies Bible Engagers meet on Wednesdays to study, share and discuss God’s Word. We begin each lesson with prayer as we ask the Holy Spirit to lead us in truth and understanding of the Scriptures. We study a book of the
Bible chapter by chapter. This year, we begin the Book of Exodus.

of fellowship and information about our faith, Methodism, and the vision and ministries of First United Methodist Church. There’ll even be refreshments and a tour! (Sponsored by the Witness Work Area) Our weekly choir practices have resumed, and it is time to begin practicing for our Christmas Cantata! As always, new and familiar faces are welcome to join us for our cantata rehearsals or choir practice. Join us in the choir room at 7:00pm on Thursdays! We will go through the Christmas music first if you can't stay for Sunday morning practice.
