Flying Triangle' spotted by two fishermen - lOth April 2011 (Interviewed by Omar Fowler)

Paul Bignall and his son Sam, were having a quiet few hours fishing at their local community fishing centre at Ticknall, near Melbourne Derbyshire, when their attention was attracted by a distant small triangular shaped object in the sky. Paul commented "When I first saw it, it was just there stationary in the sky and that's when I was convinced it was a hot air balloon. It then appeared to go towards the ground, although it was close to the horizon and it may not have gone towards the ground but moved further across the sky". (contd: Page 2)

"It then re-appeared coming up from a different place. Then it started moving slowly, extremely slowly towards us, it was getting bigger and bigger and coming towards us and there was no noise, no noise whatsoever."

"Then it started moving up and that is the photo shown in the newspaper, that's when it was diving up and seemed to have a slightly different shape, as it was being lit up by the sun it looked like a cone shape. I don't know if the RAF (Royal Air Force) will come up with a shape like this in the next five to ten years."

"The reason for the pictures not being so clear, is that all I had was my phone, not a camera or a video camera. I took a few photo's and then some video. I couldn't see anything on the small screen, but just pointed it in the direction of the object. I was stopping it and starting it every few seconds, but there are a couple of shots where you can see the object clearly in the sky."

Another photographic enlargement of the object taken by Paul Bignall. showed some very unusual characteristics. During a period of studying the FT' s over the past twenty years I had never come across the small light pattern that was visible around the edge of the craft. (Arrowed)

It was a highly unusual light pattern which by a strange coincidence had also been noted on a craft seen over North Carolina (USA) on the 6th March 2010 (See details and sketch below).

North Carolina Sightings-Pennsylvania Light (USA) Natrona Heights-- My brother on the morning of March 6, 2010, to talk and near the end of the conversation said, "/saw the strangest triangle shaped thing last night while driving what at first I thought was a shooting star. He then realized it was not a meteor and told me he still wasn't sure what it was. He said it was moving much faster than anything he had ever seen before, and covered the sky in 2 or 3 seconds. It made no sound and traveled in an arching motion 10,000 feet up as if it was following the curve of the Earth. It had to be quite large due to the altitude and relative size. It was traveling south and he made this sketch. There was a huge light on the bottom of the craft, and the outside edges were blurry lit along the entire length.

The enlargement of the object on page 3 shows a number of interesting features.

We can see that there appears to be a basic triangular shape and there is a suggestion that the shape is not just a flat triangular object, but that it appears to have depth and is shaped more like a pyramid.

The final photograph shown below would suggest that there is a body to the craft. Could it be that the small white light at the rear of the craft could even be a propulsion system of some kind?

Paul Bignall has already described that the object moved down towards the ground and then rose upwards again and although no noise was heard by Mr Bignall and his son, the object could have been under intelligent control and have a power source of some kind.

We have been fortunate in obtaining not only 'still' shots of this craft but also video footage and this was shown to PRA members at the recent meeting on the 26th April.

Paul Bignall asked the familiar question if any other witnesses has come forward? It was a bright sunny day and this object could have been clearly seen for miles, so why did nobody else see it?

We are indebted to Mr Bignall for his kind co-operation in giving details of his sighting (together with his son Sam) and we would also ask "Why did no other witnesses come forward!"

From Filers Files #20-2011

There have been a number of strange triangular shapes reported in the Filers Files recently and there are certain characteristics of the sketch below that are similar to the Ticknall craft.

East Canton -- I'm attaching a hand sketch of the small triangle craft that I've seen frequently up close, within 20 feet at one point during broad daylight.

I have a lot of involvement with these triangle craft since a child. I'm also attaching a sketch of a small little man (not shown) who I sat across from in one of those triangle craft. I know you know some of my story regardless of whether I'm from here or whatever; I have been aboard these craft.

Hi Omar, Good to hear from you. I know we have mutual friends being Terry & Dianne Waiters. Terry recently gave me your e-mail address as I wanted a lady to contact you with regards to a fantastic UFO sighting here in South Africa. We seem to be having an extraordinary amount of UFO sightings here on the South coast of South Africa & that's from the one's that get reported. I know of people who have seen UFO'S but don't want to report it due to the fear of ridicule. I will be happy to forward any stories I UFO reports I come across over here. Another person I forward info to over here is Cristo Louw who set up S A U F 0 R South African UFO Resource. He's based in Cape Town. I am expecting to receive some more UFO news paper articles & will send them on as I receive them. Are you aware that there seems to be quite a lot of activity over here in South Africa? Family take picture of what appears to be alien craft

FOLLOWING a photo of an unidentified flying object (UFO) printed in Monday's Witness, Gail Etherington of Merrivale e-mailed this photo, taken by her son Ian (17) on May 2 in Mpumalanga provmce.

"My family and I were travelling back to Howick from Mpumulanga on Monday May 2, and on our way we stopped at Waterval Boven to take a walk to Eland Falls," Etherington said.

"You have to walk through an old railway tunnel to get to the view site for the falls. Before we entered the tunnel my son Ian took this picture on his cellphone."

"When he looked at the picture he saw a black spot. He then looked into the sky and could not see any­thing, and he then took another picture," she said.

Etherington said on their return home, Ian downloaded the photos onto the computer and "saw the strange image of what we think might be a UFO". The second image, taken seconds later, shows no sign of the object at all.

"We didn't see or hear anything. We couldn't believe it," she said.

Author and self-described scientific renegade Michael Tellinger is well-known for his often challenging views on the ancient ruins surrounding the area, and said he would not at all be surprised if it is an alien craft.

Editor-! want to confrrm with 'concerned resident' (SUN May 6th) about the white-yellow light.

At 5am on April 23rd, I was looking towards the beach at Winklespirit when I observed a very bright light travelling about 20 yards above the sea, moving towards the horizon.

It was not moving very fast, I could follow it and observed it for about three kilometres. It started rising towards the morning star and it went up and up, I even called my wife out of bed to observe this big yel­low light.

It was square and about the size of a motor car tyre. Two women a few flats away from me also observed it. PUZZLED

NIGHT LIGHT SPOTTED IN DURBAN NORTH

Editor - In response to the letter "strange lights across the sky", I myself have not noticed anything unusual.

However on the same evening ofApril9,2011, my son Shaun Barnes, an ex-Toti resident now living in Durban North, also noticed a light that he described as a "big ball of orange light" moving slowly across the ocean about 50m above the sea, lkm from the beach and coming from the South Coast, going up north. This was strange, as he heard no sound coming from it on a clear calm and windless night. He let me know about it, but I missed it "while it was in the Toti region".

Another person, who doesn't want to be named, also saw a white light with a greenish and reddish tint about six or seven years ago while driving up San Raphael Road and wondered why the light was so close and not yet moving. This person did not hear any report of it so they didn't report this sighting either. Trevor Barnes

Strange Lights Across Night Sky

Editor-! write this with the sincere hope that someone in our community might help to shed light on a series of bizarre sightings in the evening sky above Amanzimtoti in the last few months.

I've been a resident in Amanzimtoti for more than 35 years, but it wasn't ootil lO years ago I saw some­thing in the night sky that has puzzled me until this very day.

It was during a rainy winter evening that I noticed an intensely bright white light "falling" from the sky, that literally lit up the entire Toti area as bright as day.

BRIGHT

As the light reached about 4,000ft, it suddenly changed into a bright yellow, before disappearinK

As the light changed colour, it also emitted bright yellow lightning bolts from its centre, almost like a huge plasma lamp.

These lightning bolts shot in different directions moments before the light vanished.

The sudden disappearance of the light was followed by a huge power blackout over Doonside and St. Winifreds.

In the weeks that followed there were similar sightings of this strange phenomenon by some Toti resi­dents, but usually very late at night. After that, there were no reported sightings ootil 2009.

One night during a thunderstorm, a bright light again appeared from among the clouds and appeared in a stationary position for nearly 15 minutes, before it disappeared in the clouds.

The appearance of this light over Toti was marked by a number of strange characteristics in the weather over Toti, culminating in the tornado at K wamMakhutha.

On the evening of April 9 20 1 1 the night sky was cloudless and at about 1 1 pm, a bright amber light was observed moving over Toti in a northerly direction at a height of about 15,000ft.

The light was seen moving along the coastline before changing from a bright amber to a dull shade of red and then disappearing from sight.

There was no sound coming from the light although it was moving at a rapid speed.

SIGHTING

Two weeks after this sighting, another sighting was observed while a thooderstorm was progressing to­wards Toti from the south.

This time the light was moving over Toti in a north-westerly direction at a height of about 35,000ft. It displayed the same characteristics as the light sighted on April 9.

From these sightings it is clear that something strange in the sky over Toti.

I urge Toti residents to pay more attention to the night sky in the hope that we can fmd a suitable explanation for these strange sightings.

Amanzimtoti South Africa Update An interview with Linda Hunt, by Omar Fowl er

I telephoned Linda on the 19th May to ask her to recount one of the incidents referred to by Dave Harvey (SA) on page 5. The incident happened about 3 months ago on the outskirts of Durban SA.

Linda: Many people have made fun of me about the incident and ridiculed me. Anyway, I was standing in my bedroom and the television was on. The time \Vas early evening, about nine o'clock or thereabouts. Then in my peripheral vision, I saw something going past my window and it looked like a UFO, I thought there was something on television about UFO's and that this had been a reflection in the window. Then I turned and saw a disc shaped object only about 17ft. away with a bright red light shining on top of it and it was moving at a steady pace. It was a definite disc shape and it was silvery -blue with a bright red light on top.

I called out to my daughter and she ran outside with her husband to watch the object as it flew past steadily in a straight direction. We have a lot of trees in out garden, but it didn't divert to go around them, but seemed to fly straight on through the trees and across the huge school grounds that are next to us. It carried straight on across these grounds and then suddenly disappeared as though a light had been switched oftl

My daughter and her husband watched the object as it disappeared and they said that the bright red light on top (brighter than an emergency vehicle) of the disc shaped object had changed colour and then reverted back to red before it disappeared.

It didn't shoot across the sky, it was very low down, very low and it was disc shaped. It was also absolutely silent and that was confusing as when I first saw it flying past my window I expected a sound, but it was absolutely silent. My daughter and son-in-law said exactly the same thing, it was completely silent. What really confused me was, I have a very wooded garden and it (the disc) didn't negotiate its way through the trees but just went straight on through them, which sounds ridiculous.

There was an article in a local paper where a guy had taken a photograph and although he did not see it at the time, when he later looked at the photograph there was a ufo in it and it looked very much like the object I had seen.

Since the incident, people have been asking me if I had seen any little green men and ridiculing my sighting, we had become the laughing stock of the town� Amanzimtoti is not a city like Durban, it is a town., but a bjt of a one horse town, so everybody knows everybody_ Having .said that everyone wa.s laughing, not everyone was and some people were very interested in what we had seen. We were asked by many, what we had been smoking and how many drinks we had that night, but I rarely drink any­way.

I was all so weird, I have always been a bit of a sceptic, but I have since become interested in the subject because I want to know what I saw.

Some people don't ever want to mention it, there were some people that did have a sighting, but then heard the story that there were 'Chinese Lanterns' flying around and this was the explanation.

They accepted this and were able to settle their minds� as there are a lot of deeply religious people .around here .and they think it'_s _against their religion to believe in things like that. If that'.s what they feel, then they must feel that way.

ED: By all accounts the attitude of the residents in this part of South Africa are some 30 years behind the titnes which has resulted in them still ridiculing the subject.

UK Reports from Filers Files #21-2011

WIDNES -- On May 20 10, a youth claims he saw a top-secret stealth' aircraft swoop just feet above rooftops. Laurence Baker, 17, said he was at home when a black sphere flew over homes near his house on Millington Close, Foxley Heath. Laurence, who studies art and design, is keen to know whether any­one else saw the same thing.

He said, "The mystery orb had an antennae protruding from near its rear end, which was facing to­wards its front and over the main body. The teen believes the mystery vehicle was a stealth' aircraft. It was not a B-2 Stealth Bomber, F-117 A, or any other recognizable aircraft. The vehicle was heading silently toward North Wales at jet fighter' speed and was the same size as an RAF Typhoon and was covered in black panels that looked like scales. It was flying just 25 feet above the rooftops.

He said, "I'm not going to say it was alien craft because that's out of the question, it is more likely was some kind of advanced stealth military airplane because unmarked helicopters have been hovering over Foxley Heath lately. PORTSMOUTH MYSTERIOUS LIGHT

I am a photographer by trade, and as we had some very interesting cloud formations on May 8, 20 1 1. I decided to take a few shots for background and scenery, on area of the sky caught my eye with a bright object moving very fast through the sky, I trained my camera and zoomed in to maximum zoom, and took the snap, it was only there for about 10 seconds in all, and then completely disappeared.

I am using the Canon Rebel T li, with an EF-S SS-250mm 1:4-5.6 IS Zoom Lens. Nothing much more to say only that it was very bright and interesting mainly the shape once I had loaded the image on to the PC and zoomed in even more. I have included 3 files with this note, the original, one with the object outlined, and a close up edited in Photoshop, though no other editing has been done just digital zoom. To add, I was facing west toward the City of Portsmouth UK. CMS

UFO SEEN NEAR HUDDERSFIELD, YORKSHIRE U.K.

More sightings of low flying black craft reported . Posted Wednesday lOth March, 2010

We have received another report of mysterious low flying black aircraft, we reported other instances of these in the past, another was spotted yesterday near the Huddersfield on the Yorkshire and Lancashire border. It was described as being the size of a jumbo jet, matt black and hugging the hills at around one hundred feet from the ground. One eye witness, who doesn't want to be named, said she was convinced it was about to crash and pulled over on the hard shoulder of the motorway. She described it as a huge black craft, " it was flying so low, much lower than I'm sure any aircraft would be allowed to fly, it was only feet above the hills and terrain, I was convinced it was about to crash, it wasn't grey or green but pure matt black all over with no markings. It was totally weird .. It was a bright sunny day with clear blue sky and this should have made the colour more obvious but it was just pure black all over. I'm sure even the military are not allowed to fly that low over a populated area". A similar craft described as matt black and looking very much like a large cruise missile around the same area was spotted 12 months ago, Manchester air traffic control reported nothing on radar for that area. Every year they get closer: UFO fan hails clearest video yet and says 'they know I'm filming them'

It seems to be the world centre for UFO video's, but this image is extraordinary clear.

UFO enthusiast Michael Lee Hill, of Eastlake, has recorded many images of something mysterious over Lake Erie, Ohio. He has just released new footage filmed along the lakefront that he says is his best so far.

Mr Hill said: 'It was probably one of the craziest nights of activity I've ever experienced.' The images show several sets of coloured lights flashing over Lake Erie, while appearing to remain still. Mr Hill said: 'I've been filming these for a long time and it's just grown to the point where they've let me know, they know I'm sittin' there filming them.' You know, they come in - every year they've come in closer and closer.' Several people in the area believe the lake is a hotbed for extraterrestrial activity. Ed Husa lives in Euclid and often walks his dog in a local park. 'I go outside and I look up in the sky and I see them all the time up there. 'Every so often you see strange lights blinking on and off.'

Fox 8 News revealed similar images of lights blinking over Lake Erie last year. That led a team from the Cleveland Ufology Project to track the lights. The organisation was founded back in 1952.1ts �em­bers consider themselves experts and decided that the images were airplanes. Hill disagreed with their assessment last year and now he says he's even more confident the aliens are among us. 'The fact that this remains in the screen and is not moving, I believe, negates any notion that it's an aircraft,' he said.

Previously, NASA, which has a research facility in Cleveland, has not commented on the sightings over Lake Erie. Officials at Hopkins International Airport said planes from the U.S. and Canada take­off frequently over the water.

Giant ocean whirlpools puzzle scientists (Abridged) US scientists discovered two giant whirlpools in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Guyana and Suri­name. It became a sensational discovery because this part of the ocean has been studied thoroughly, and no one expected anything like that to appear in the area. More importantly, no one can understand where the whirlpools came from and what surprises they may bring to people.

According to Brazilian scientist Guilherme Castellane, the two funnels are approximately 400 kilometers in diameter. Until now, these were not known on Earth. The funnels report­edly exert a strong influence on climate changes that have been registered during the recent years.

Funnels rotate clockwise. They are moving in the ocean like giant frisbees, two discs thrown into the air. Rotation occurs at a rate of one me­ter per second, the speed is sufficiently large compared to the speed of oceanic currents, on the border hoppers is a wave-step height of 40 cm," Castellane said.

Even during the dry months, when the movement of oceanic currents and the flow of the Amazon River practically comes to a standstill, the funnels do not disappear. Therefore, the nature of the funnels does not depend on the flow of water, which one of the world's biggest rivers brings into the ocean. The natural phenomenon, which creates the whirlpools, is unknown to modem science.

As a matter of fact, the phenomenon of giant whirlpools in the World Ocean is not new to science. In most cases, the craters, or rings, as scientists call them, are formed as a result of so-called vertical currents. The latter, in their turn, appear because of differences in water density which appear because of difference in temperatures of water layers.

It is an open secret that cold water is thicker and heavier, so it goes down, underneath the masses of warm water, which is lighter. This is the reason why warm currents in the World Ocean always flow closer to the surface, whereas colder currents flow closer to the bottom.

However, such movement of water may not always depend on the difference of temperatures of the water column. The difference in salinity can also be a reason. The mechanism here is the same. The density of saltier water is higher, this water is heavier and it moves closer to the bottom, pushing less saltier water up. This type of vertical fusion occurs frequently in the tropics because high temperatures lead to the evaporation of water from the surface.

The salt does not evaporate with water, though. It stays in the ocean, which raises the level of salinity on the upper layer of water. This layer "drowns" and gives way to less saltier waters of the depth.

It is not ruled out that the reason for the appearance of the whirlpools off the coast of South America is the same as in other parts of the World Ocean. Scientists are currently studying the influence of those giant funnels on the climate of Latin America and Africa. Such whirlpools show influence on the atmos­phere and form cyclonical air mass. They can also affect the movement of air mass formed in other places. For the time being, scientists do not know how the newly discovered water craters can affect the climate of Central and South Americas.

The space shuttle Endeavour blasted off on Monday toward the International Space Station on the penul­timate flight for the US shuttle program. And this image - taken on a mobile phone by Stefanie Gordon aboard a passenger flight from New York to Palm Beach - is turning into a web sensation. The six-member crew of astronauts including five Americans and one Italian, Roberto Vittori, is delivering a potent physics experiment to probe the origins of the universe during the 16-day mission, which will include four spacewalks. Gordon caught an early Delta flight from New York to West Palm Beach on Monday to visit her parents and had a whole row to herself, never imagining the history she would record. She stretched out and took a nap. Then she awoke shortly before the pilot announced the descent had be­gun and a sighting of the shuttle was possible. She had forgotten Endeavour was even taking off at 8.56am local time, but readied her iPhone just in case. Then, the pilot came on again, alerting passengers the shuttle was in sight. "Everybody ran over to the east side of the plane," Gordon said Tuesday, "and all of a sudden there it was in the clouds." All told, she shot 12 seconds of footage of the shuttle arcing on its simple stream of smoke into space. She also shot three still photographs. The Associated Press contacted Gordon through Facebook and purchased the images. The AP often obtains photos from eye witnesses, called citizen journalists.
