    Introduction:

    The DSP Data Management software is contained on a CD-ROM identified asINSTALLATIONDISCFORDSP-DMVersionX.XTheversionnumberanddateappearforfutureupdatesandsystemmaintenance.All executable programs (EXE, DLL, OCX, etc.) are loaded into the applicationdirectoryandinWindows\System,andthefileDSPM.INIwillbecopiedintoWindowstosetuptheDSPDataManagementsoftware.

    Installation:

    ThesystemCDcontainsanautorunfeaturethatwill launchwhentheCDis loadedintothecomputer,openingawindowthatallowsselectionofinstallationstart-up.Step1:Theinstallationprogramwillcheckandpreparetheoperatingsystemforinstallation.

    Step2:Once the operating system isprepared, the installation programwill show where the software willbeinstalled.

    Step3:

    The installation process will lastseveral minutes and has severalstages.

    Step4:When the installationprogram opens the finalwindow, the DSP DataManagementsoftware isreadytorun.

    The system can bestarted from theWindowsprogrammenu.

    Enabling the Security Key:

    TheDSPDataManagementsoftwareisprotectedbyadeviceknownasa"dongle",atypeofdigitalkeythatmustbepluggedintothecomputeronwhichtheapplicationisrun.This key needs to be plugged into either the parallel port or USB port of thecomputer,dependingonthemodelofkeythatwasreceived.IfDSPDataManagementistobeusedonanetwork,aseparatekeyisrequiredforeachlicensedterminal.RunningafilefromthemenuSETUP/PROGRAMS/DSPDATAMANAGEMENTenablesthekeyandallowsthesoftwaretorunnormally.

    Performtheinstallationonthecomputerthatwillbeusedtomaintaintherecordsandtransfertheroutes

    Createtheplantsbydefiningthetechnicaldetailsofequipment,thealarmbands,andthespecifictypeofmeasurementsforeachpieceofequipment.

    Createtheroutestobetransferredtothelogger,choosingtheequipmentthateachroutewillcontain.

    Selecttheroutestobemeasuredinthefieldandselectthetransferoptiontodownloadtheseroutestothelogger.

    DSP Data Management START window:

    The START window is themain window of the DSP

    Data Management software.From here the ID andPassword are entered toaccess the various listedfunctions.

    FIELDMEASUREMENTSWITHTHELOGGER

    Oncetheroutesareloadedintothelogger,selectthethedatacollectorprogram,selecttheroutetobemeasured,andactivatetheautomaticfunctionforthefirstequipmentlisted.

    TRANSFERMEASUREMENTS

    Selectthereceivetransferoptiontouploadtheroutemeasurementstakenbythedataloggertothecomputer.

    CHECKINGMEASUREMENTSRECEIVED

    Thiswindowallowsaquicklooktoverifythemeasurementstaken,toseethethestatusofthemeasurement,andtoprintthefaultspectra.Italsopermitsthepreparationofareportonthestateoftheroute.

    REVIEWRECORDS Thisapplicationallowsananalysisofallmeasurementstakenintheplantand

    alongindividualroutes,withtheabilitytoseeinallcasesthemeasurementsthatweretakenoveradeterminedperiodoftime.Itallowscomparingmeasurements,viewingtrendingcharts,andprintingreportsonequipment.

    It is also from this window that plants and sub-plants are created to organizeequipmentrecords,toinputconfigurationsfromotherplantsalreadycreated,toinput

    equipmentandtheirrecords, toassignmeasurements fromOFFROUTEplantstootherplants,andtoseetheroutesbydateofinspectionsperformed.Main functions:

    ICONtocreateanewplant

    ICON to import equipment configurations with or withouttheirrecordsfromanotherplantinthesystem.

    ICON to import equipment configurations with or withouttheirrecordsfromanotherplantinthesystem.

    ICON to export off-route measurements taken by thedatalogger.

    ICON toaccess the list of routesalreadyperformed insidetheselectedplant

    ICONtoaccessthelistofroutesinalltheplantsexistinginthesystem

    Importation of plants:

    FromtheSTARTwindowtheusercanimportdatafromplantsthathavealreadybeenestablished.Theselectionofwhichelementstoimportcanbedonebeforetheoperation and not onlycan the configuration of the points be copied,but also therecordsforeachpieceofequipmentaswell.If the user wants toimport data from theequipment, the systemshows the treediagrams of the plantsandsub-plants.

    To import data, selectthe plant that willreceive the data andthen activate thefunctionwiththeimportICON.A plant-selectionwindow will open, fromwhich the data will beimported.

    In this window there will appeara list of equipment anda selection box for whichequipmentistobeimported.

    By selecting a piece of equipment, all of its corresponding points are likewiseselected.Thesepointscanbede-selectedmanually.

    Option of Importation:

    Importing a complete plant allows the selectionofall equipment in a single step.Thiscommandwillcopytheconfigurationofallequipmentfromoneplanttoanother.

    Importingrecordsallowsmoving(notcopying)equipmentwithits records fromoneplanttoanother.Thisisextremelyusefulwhenmonitoringisrequiredforequipmentthat,afterbeingrepaired,hasbeenmovedtoadifferentlocation.IMPORTANT!!!

    When importing equipment together with its records, the imported equipment iserasedfromitsoriginaldatabase.THE DUPLICATION OF RECORDS HAVING THE SAME CODES IS NOTALLOWED.

    Changingtheequipmentcodecanbedoneautomaticallybyactivatingthefunction.

    This tool is very useful when a lot of equipment, or a sector that is identical toanother,isimportedandtheonlychangeisthesystemcode.Whenimporting,thesystemwillaskforanewcodetocorrespondtoeachpieceofequipmentbeingimported.

    Exporting measurements:

    Exportingpermitsthemeasurementsgeneratedbythedataloggerwithitsoff-routeprogramtobeorganizedintothepredictivemaintenancesystem.Byactivating this function from the ICON, the system will open the OFF-ROUTEplant,whichisautomaticallycreatedwheneverthesystemreceivesfilestakenoutsidetheroute.

    ThisOFF-ROUTEplantcontainsallofthemeasurementstakenbythedatalogger,andtheyarearrangedby

    -EQUIPMENT-POINT-MEASUREMENTInaddition,thetimeandthespectralRMSvaluearealsoshown.

    FromtheExportmeasurementswindow,inadditiontothefulluseofallanalysistoold,thespectracanbeopenedupandprintedoutTheprocesstocarryouttheExportfunctionrequiresonlyknowinganddefiningthe

    destinationforeachoff-routemeasurementtaken.IntheExportwindow,thereappeartwotypesofICONthatallowviewingorexportingthemeasurementsfromthegrid.

    ThespectralmeasurementopenedfromtheExportwindowhasthesametoolsavailabletoitasanyRECORD,soitisrecommendedtoseethecorresponding

    chapterformoredetails.Exportingmeasurementsisperformedviaawindowinthisprogramthatiscalled:Exportationofoff-routedata/PlantselectionInordertoenterthesemeasurements,itisnecessarytoknowthebackgroundscaleofthemeasurementmadeoff-routeandthatofthepointwhereitisbeingentered,forifthesedonotcoincidethesystemwillrejecttheexport.

    Takingthisintoaccount,onemustlookthroughthelistoftheplantand/orsub-plantswhichwillbethedestinationofthemeasurement.Whentheplant

    orsub-plantislocated,onemustfindtheequipmentforthemeasurement;andwhen

    theequipmentisfound,onemustlookattheassociatedpoint.

    En caseswhere the off-routemeasurementbelongs toa piece ofequipment thatdoesnothavesuchapointalreadycreated,thepointcanbeaddedatthesametimethemeasurementisentered.

    Toperform this, select the plant, then select theequipmentand open thewindowENTEREQUIPMENTANDPOINTwiththisICON:

    Theprogramwillopenawindowtocreatethepointontheselectedequipment.Thenameoftheequipmentwillappearasafixedfield,andonlythecodeofthepoint

    whouldbeentered.Whenthisisdone,theprogramwillconfirmthedestinationfortheoff-routemeasurement.Incasesofenteringmeasurementswhenneithertheequipmentnorthepointexists,onemustselecttheplant,openthewindowENTEREQUIPMENTANDPOINTandfill-inbothfieldsfortheoperationtobesuccessful.Whenthisisdone,theprogramwillconfirmthedestinationoftheoff-routemeasurement.Whenthisisfinished,themeasurementswillnolongerbelongtotheOFF-ROUTEplant,andassuchcannotbere-exportednorreviewedfromthisplant.Measurementstakenoff-routethatarenotexportedtoanotherplantwillremainintheOFF-ROUTEplanandcanbecheckedorreviewedfromtheRECORDSoption. Measurement routes performed:

    Byactivatingthis function thesystemwillshow the measurement routesthathaveexpiredaccordingtothecontrolfrequencyentered,orinotherwords,thattheywerenotmeasuredinsideofthedefinedperiodoftime,intheselectedplant.

    Thesecondoptionforthisfunctionistoactivatethesearchforexpiredroutesinallplantsandsub-plantsofthesystem.When theexpired routesare found, the transferwindowappears for sending,andtransfertotheloggercanbeundertaken.

    Main Menu:

    Opciones / Administracin

    Options/AdministrationTheCouplingType,BearingType,LubeType,RollerType,andAlarmBandsarelisted in the system to permit loadingsuchdataintotheconfiguration.Tobecomefamiliarwiththesefunctionsanddetails,refertoCHAPTER2:CONFIGURATION.

    Security:

    DSPDataManagementallowsthecreationofdifferentuserswithoutanylimits,butatthesametimethesystemadministratorcancreateagivenprofileforeachuser,orcreateprofileswithdeterminedfunctionality.Upon entering theSecurity function, the system administrator will see the userscreatedduringinstallation.

    EachuserwillhaveanID,name,profile,andpassword.Thefollowingfunctionsarealsoavailabletothesystemadministrator:

    ICONtoaddanewuser.

    ICONtoeditaexistinguser.

    ICONtodeleteauser.

    From the user function, the system administrator will also have access to theprofiles:

    For the established profiles that appear onscreen, each hasa list of authorized

    commandsforenteringthesystem.Thesystemadministratoralsohasavailablethefollowingfunctions:

    ICONtoaddanewprofile.

    ICONtoeditaprofile.

    ICONtodeleteaprofile.

    Create Profiles:

    Eachusermusthaveanassignedprofilefromthesetypes:Reviewer,Inspector,orAdministrator.Theprofilescanbemodifiedtotakeawayortoaddsystemfunctions.Tomodifyaprofile,onemustactivatethisfunctionwiththeICON:When the command is activated a window from the menu will open to selectfunctionstoactivateordeactivate.Eachmenuoptionhasdistinct,

    associatedcommands,andeachcommandhasassociatedactions.TheexampleshowstheAlarmBandcommandanditsassociatedactionsasAdd,Edit,andDelete.Theseactionsaredeactivatedfortheselectedprofilewhentheyareclickedandde-selectedfromthelist.Upon finishing the modification of access privileges or upon selecting anothercommandfromthemenuoptions,thesystemwillwarnofthechangesmade.Whenaprofileisconfigured,itmaybecopiedorduplicatedwithanothername,via

    Options / Utilities

    The functions found inside Utilities are associated with database tools. Theseoperationsallowmorecomplexchangestothedatafortheplants.

    Mostofthedatathatisfoundintheplants can be modified from theconfiguration, but some data canonly be modified by the Utilitiesfunctions.

    Attach Tables:

    The databases that work with the DSP Data Managementsystem are addressedaccordingtothespecificinstallationofaterminalornetwork.Aconventionalinstallationcanaddressthetablesinthefollowingmanner:c:/dspdm/planta1/planta1.mdb

    Nevertheless,ausermayworkwithdatabasesfromotherusersthatmaynothaveaconventionalinstallationontheC:driveandthiswouldresultinaseriesoferrorsupon reviewing thedata from the plant, includingshowinganemptydatabase.

    Toresolvethisproblem,itwilljustbenecessarytoselecttheworkplant,andthenactivatetheAttachTablesfunction.The delay caused by this function will be determined either by the speed of thenetworkorbythelocalharddrive,butnoactionwillbedisplayedonscreenatthemomentofattachment.TheAttachTablesoptionalsoshouldbeusedwhen thesystemversionisupdatedwheneverthefileDSPCON.MDBisupdatedfromeachplant.DSPCON.MDBfiles:

    Eachdatabase,whetheraplantorsub-plant,containstwofiles.Thefilethatcarriesthe nameof the folder or plant will have theextension .mdb, and will contain the

    tableswiththedataoftheconfigurationandtherecordsoftheequipment.Theotherfilewillbecalled"dspcon.mdb".Asthefiledspcon.mdbcontainstheinformationofthereviewsandtheaddressofthedatabase,itwillincreaseinsizeovertimeandwithreviews.Insome casesit can growtoequal orexceedthedata file. This increase in sizecould result indatabase-related reliabilityissues, so it ishighlyrecommended thatthisfilebereplacedwheneverproblemsariseinthereviews.Toreplacethisfileitisnecessarytolookinsidethesystemfolder,calledDSPDM,forthefiledspcon.mdb;tocopythisfile;andtopasteitinsidetheplant,replacingtheexistingfile.Thefiledspcon.mdbthatcanbefoundentherootorprogramfolderisanemptyfilethatwillserveto replacethosethatmaygrowunwieldyor thosethatmaygenerateproblems.Oncereplaced,theAttachTablesfunctionshouldbeactivated.

    Change Password:

    This function allows changing thecurrentuser'spassword.

    It is onlynecessaryto inputdata intothefieldsindicatedbythewindow,andthepasswordwill bechangedwithoutmodificationtotheuser'sprofile..Change Codes:

    Thecodesof equipment,points, and variablesareunalterable fields inthe DSPDataManagementsystem,astheycontainfixedreferencesfortherestoftherelationaldatabase.

    As on occasion these names are modifiedand/orupdatedbyothersystems,thetool forchangingcodesallowstheoperatortoupdatethenamesofthesefields.Tomakechangestocodes,selectaplantorsub-plantandtheoption.For changes to equipment codes, a windowwill show the list ofequipmentand a box toenterthereplacementcode.

    Change Codes: Points

    The new codes can be entered one by one and updated all at once with thiscommand:

    In order to change the Auxiliary Measurements codes, the equipment must beselectedandawindowwillshowthemeasurementstobechanged.Update Tables:

    TheDSPDataManagementsystemcontainsindependenttablesthatholddatausedtoshowresultswithdifferentanalysistools.Giventhatthesetoolscanbeappliedindifferentversions,thetablesfrompreviousversionsareleftoutdatedintheplantdatabases.Additionally,thereexistdatabasesindifferentlanguagesandevendifferentdefinitionsofmeasurementsinthe

    languageused.Forthesereasons,thetablesthatarenotupdatedfromadatabaseorfromaninstallationmaygenerateseriousoperationalerrorsthatimpedethe

    correctoperationoftheprincipalfunctionsoftheprogram.Wheneverusingdatabasesfromdifferentversionsofthesoftware,orwheneverusingdifferentlanguages,itisrecommendedthattheUpdateTabelsoptionbeselected.Options / Reports

    BalancingReports:DSPData Managementorganizesand files measurements andreports generatedwiththeDSPLoggerMX300hardware,whosebalancingmodulegenerates a report with the initial and final balance values. These are stored inmemoryandcanbetransferredtothePCwithanymeasurementroute.DSPDataManagementtakescareofidentifyingwhattypeofreportisenteredandstoringitinthecorrespondingformat.TheBalanceReportoptiononlyallowsaccesstotherecordsofthereports,sotheycan beopened and printed out (to perform transfers see Chapter 3: Routes andTransfers)Whenthisoptionisselected,awindowwillbeopenedthatshowsthelistofreports.

    WheneverBalanceReportsareentered,theywillappearinthelist,forreviewandprinting.Toopenit,clickontheright-handmousebutton,andthewindowwillbeshownwiththereport.Theinitialandfinalspectraoptionsarenotavailable,notevenonthehardware.
